True dat.

Yes they are. Of course, the cost of everything seems to be going in the same direction.

Lumber, that is another one that is very high these days. Oh, the price of gas, groceries, dinning out and just about anything and everything.

I agree! Shipping is insane and it’s just going to keep on rising.

You live on an island in the Indian Ocean which is part of the reason shipping is high. Other than that the cost of vehicle and aircraft fuel, lower number of flights and other factors have combined to increase shipping costs.

I don,t know why shipping from Russia cup and saucer cost about 20-25 $ ,and from USA to Russia 50-75 ?
one banknote or coin shipping From USA to Russia cost 30$ !!! It,s impossible to buy anything on Ebay USA

On eBay, every buyer, on every item, sees the proposed shipping cost BEFORE bidding or buying and he certainly has the option of just not buying or bidding on that item.

Don't forget the Medicare Part B premium, which just went up 14.55% and thus eats up a substantial portion of the 5.9% increase in the Social Security benefit.
It amuses me, in a dark sort of way, to have one branch of government telling me that inflation is running at 5.9% while another branch inflates something by 14.55% in one stroke of the pen.

You are right, but shipping costs to certain countries increase with distance.

In the US, shipping costs are calculated on many factors like weight, size, class, distance the item will have to travel. Would imagine that the same is true for other countries as well.

You are correct

Just before Covid I was looking to buy a shed kit that was 899 from Lowes. Today the same kit is over 1600 , and it's no longer availble in FL. I looked at a pre-built shed from a local co and it was 2100 and today the same shed is 2900. I'm talking about the 2100 shed is still on the lot unsold for over a year but the price was raised 800 while it sat there. To me that is opportunistic price gouging because it was built when lumber hadn't gone up.

The cup and saucer can be shipped cheaper to Russia but to send it with tracking that proves delivery starts at just over $50.

The replacement cost of the lumber has gone up, so it would cost more to replace it.
Value of in stock items goes up with the economy.
Just like at the gas station. Wait, you need to sell me the 1st half of my fill up at a lower price because you still had some fuel in the huge underground tank before delivery of the current truckload!!!!!! Try telling the gas station that 😊
You have to sell me your house for $XXXXXX , and not charge me more, because that is all you paid for it !!!! Try that , see how it works out😊
