This is true. Many times, USPS will miss a scan.

At this time of year if you drop packages off at a P.O.,  the packages may not get an acceptance scan, and packages shipped via ground advantage may not get scanned at every stop until an Out For Delivery or a Delivered scan is issued.

Sometimes when a truck stops at one facility to unload pallets before moving on there will be no scan of the package itself just an Arrived at: - Departed  from: scan for the pallet your package is on, and sometimes not even that happens if the truck unloads quickly.

As long as tracking shows some movement you are protected.

No they don't.   I have received many packages they were only scanned at delivery and some that never were scanned at all.

 

When tracking by USPS first came out, it was called delivery confirmation , not tracking.  They slowly expanded it into tracking.  Now they seem to be cutting back.
