paypal change of email

I have opened a new paypal account which has a different email address from my old account which is now closed. However I can't find any link in my uk ebay account to update the paypal payment option for buyers to my new paypal email address so should someone buy an item on my ebay account and pay via paypal the payment will go to the old closed account and not the new account.

Once upon a time you were able to update/remove paypal payment option from your ebay account settings but since ebay and paypal have parted ways this option seems to have also gone!

Come on ebay why do you make things so difficult, if you have parted ways with paypal then REMOVE the option for buyers to pay via PP.

OR at least allow users to update/remove the paypal option in their sellers accounts.....I have spen an hour today going round in circles and also 40 minutes in chat with an ebay agent two days ago who couldn't seem to understand the problem I am now faced with....NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

PayPal doesn't process the payments on eBay anymore, but that does not mean that buyers can't use PayPal to pay. It just means that sellers can't receive payments into their PayPal account, no matter how the buyers pay.

PayPal sends the money to eBay managed payments, and they send the payout to the seller's bank account. Even when a buyer pays with PayPal, it does not go to the seller's PayPal account.

As the seller, you don't need to do anything for this to happen, as long as you are registered for managed payments. The customer service agent didn't understand because there is no problem, you just had a misunderstanding.

You have not received any feedback as a seller for more than a year, so most likely you will need to sign up for managed payments before you sell again. Here is more info and links to register for managed payments on eBay UK. I recommend that you complete the registration before you create a listing, so there won't be confusion or problems after you make a sale.

Since PayPal and ebay have cut ties and broke their interactive connection a couple of years ago, when ebay set up their own Managed Payments system.  You can no longer link the accounts.  However, the PayPal option is still available for use when you buy on the site. 

If your old account is still linked when you use the PayPal option you may have to change your contact info on that account or login using your new account info.  If you have a problem doing that login to PayPal and make changes on that site.

For selling people can still pay you using PayPal or the other options, but the funds do not go into your PayPal account, they go into the Checking account you have registered with ebay. If you have not sold for a few years, you may have to set up ebay's Managed Payments to receive funds from sales.

You can transfer the funds to your PayPal account from there to use for payments or if your checking account has a debit card use it instead of your PayPal balance.

Why is it so difficult? That's  easy. Sellers no longer need PayPal. They're  not going to help with something no longer needed.

That's because there isn't one.

Pay Pal is no longer used for sellers to be paid and hasn't been for a couple years now.

To be paid, you have ton sign up for managed Payments.

Thanks all.....it did occur to me this afternoon that this is the case, I recall selling a camera a year ago and the money appeared in my bank account instead of the paypal account as it used to do.

Memory isn't what it used to be....no fun getting old when yer marbles are rolling away to fast!
