incorrect usps tracking number 9400108205499733679358

Incorrect usps tracking number given. Usps states item delivered 20 days before item ordered. Ordred on Jan. 27th. Usps states delivered on Jan. 8th. Unable to resolve with Ebay, just get into a loop, back and forth between selecting item, which sends me to tracking, which keeps saying delivered on wrong date and wrong address. This not the first time this has happened to me with Ebay. The previous time I was able to resolve issue through Paypal. Evidently Ebay no longer using Paypal.

@jonablair

Sometimes USPS will recycle tracking numbers, but usually not this close in time.  What was the last estimated delivery date? (Don't look at the listing itself, because that will show the date as if you purchased it today.)  If the last date is passed, and there is a record of 'delivered" anyplace you are going to lose if you file an "item not received" claim with eBay.  Instead go here, and ask for assistance for a tracking scam where the number marked "delivered" before you even bought the item.   This sort of thing is above the pay grade of the outsourced foreign call center CS reps you get on a call back or chat.  They are not allowed to tell you much more than "tracking shows delivered" i.e. you lose.

@jonablair,

If you file an item not received (INR)  dispute through ebay by using the More actions button on your purchase history page, it will be turned down because the initial INR automated system only looks for a Delivered scan and nothing else.

 However, when you receive a message saying the dispute was denied, there will be an appeal button in it. If you use that, You can attach a screen shot or copy of the tracking info.   Your appeal will be looked at by a real person who can check the dates the tracking number was first issued and the date the delivered scan was posted. they will overturn the first decision and authorize a refund.

If you lose the appeal, then try ebay's Facebook site as suggested, but you will need the seller's username, and the 12 digit (no hyphens) ebay item number. Write out what happened attach the tracking info to the message, then sign it with your real name and ebay username.  It can take a few days to get a reply.
