The item I bought was stated to be shipped by the seller using USPS Ground Advantage.
Apparently, FedEx SmartPost was cheaper and they are using that instead.

I don't care what service the seller uses as long as they don't use media mail fraud for unauthorized items. Ebay's MBG doesn't protect buyers when the items are returned to sender.

eBay offers three types of shipping. Expedited, Standard and Economy.
A seller is allowed to change carriers as long as it is within the same type. They can also upgrade but not downgrade.
FedEx SurePost is FedEx Ground Economy. I believe it is the same class as USPS Ground Advantage.

And who is gonna stop them from downgrading? I've paid for priority and G/A multiples times and sellers went ahead and used media mail instead for unauthorized causing me headaches when they're returned to sender.

Just in case the seller is trying to pull a fake tracking scam, go to the FedEx site and sign up for their Free, Delivery Manager enhanced tracking service. By doing that you will get information, you can use if the item is not delivered to you, but gets a delivered scan.
If that does happen come back to these boards, look in the upper right corner for the ebay generated avatar circle. Click on it, and then click on My profile. On the page that opens below the info posted in the Banner, look for this topic title, click on it, then reply with the info you have. We can tell you how to get a refund if that happens.

Yes, there are sellers who use the generic Expedited, Standard, Economy, but this seller didn't.
The issue is that the auction specifically stated USPS Ground Advantage.
To me FedEx SurePost is one step below USPS Ground Advantage simply because of the handoff and the issues that can result from that and also the delay (1 day or possibly longer) because of that handoff.

Thank you.
Well, the seller printed the label but did not mail it yesterday. Oh well.
I am going to just wait and see how long it takes before the seller decides to actually ship the item.
