Anything as large as a golf bag would be moving by parcel service, and almost all of those have tracking.
If the seller did not buy shipping through eBay, they would have to add the tracking number manually.
Ask politely that they add it, and remind them that eBay gets grumpy when sellers don't. (That is, adding the number is good for them. It's irrelevant for the buyer.)
When they do, check it ONCE to see that all the information is correct, mark the last estimated date for arrival on your calendar, and never look at it again.
The paths parcels take in transit are weird and wild and rarely make sense. And that's when no fat-fingered clerk reverses digets in a zipcode.
