Hi,
I recently bought expansions for a board game for a decent price. It's my 1st purchase that was partially incorrect. 4 of the items were correct, but 1 was wrong. They sent the base original board game instead of the 5th expansion listed. I messaged the seller to offer an exchange with the wrong item (base game) for the correct item listed (5th expansion)
My question is can get make this exchange, or get a partial refund for just the 1 item while keeping the correct items given?
If not what's the best solution I can do to correct this?

The only thing eBay can force is a return of everything for a full refund. You would do that through an item not as described return. You can request a partial refund or exchange, but it's at the seller's sole discretion whether they agree to it. And in the case of an exchange you have to be careful with the timeframe. You only have 30 days to open a Money Back Guarantee return case and then another 21 days to ask eBay to step in. So you could lose your protections waiting for the exchange to arrive.
Honestly, the least problem-prone solution is to either decide you can live with 4 out of 5 or open a case and return, at the seller's expense, for a full refund.

You need to file an INAD, then leave it up to the seller if they want the items returned for a full refund or give a partial refund for the missing item.
