Why Does Ebay Continue to Promote the Sale of Fake/Fraudulent Seeds?

Why Does Ebay Continue to Promote the Sale of Fake/Fraudulent Seeds?

The Best Selling Seeds that Ebay Sells are All FAKES and Do Not Exist In Nature as viable seeds.

I have reported many of these to Ebay multiple times and even spoken with ebay Reps about the problem, yet Ebay continues to sell Fake Seeds and they Profit Greatly from it.

Is it the Profits that keep Ebay from stopping their illegal behavior?

Most sucker who buy these seeds leave positive feedback before even planting them (based on shipping speed).

Most seeds take more than 30 days to turn into what they are suppose to be,  which for the suckers, is too late to file a claim with ebay once they realize they were duped.  Ebay knows this.  It is Wrong!

eBay doesnt "sell" anything. eBay does not police items listed ...

Report the listings or sellers of illegal fake items.

Why would you expect eBay to put much credence in your opinion that the seeds that you're reporting are fake seeds without your having some form of credentials to lend weight to that opinion?

I'm afraid your post makes no sense.  There is something of a difference between witnessing a violent assault and reporting it to law enforcement or even taking action yourself and reporting one's alleged suspicion that an item one hasn't physically examined is not what it is being advertised to be.  While one might have cause to be suspicious of the description of something in an ad, the only thing one can do is report those suspicions for investigation.

There is a DIRECT comparison.

BOTH are illegal.

True.  However, without evidence that is admissible in a court of law one would need to be careful about making accusations that could be construed as libelous which is also illegal.

Re: Why Does Ebay Continue to Promote the Sale of Fake/Fraudulent Seeds?

As a person who grows plants from seed I know which plants have viable seed and which do not.

You don't need credentials to know the difference.

Photoshop is how the "Pants/Flowers" have been created - They Do Not Exist In Nature.

A simple Google search will let you know that there is no such thing as a:

Purple Pampas Grass

Blue Strawberry

Blue Sunflower

Pink Sunflower

Bright Purple Sunflower

Ebay sells all of these and hundreds of other fakes.

You cannot buy these seeds from legitimate seed companies as they do not exist.

You can buy them from Private Websites that sell Fake Seeds, as well as other websites that allow fake items to be sold such as Amazon, Alibaba, Bonanza, and Etsy.

So the question Still Stands...  Why does Ebay participate in this Fraud?

I guess I should sell Time Machines or the blood of Christ on eBay because eBay claims they need an expert to determine if they are Fakes.

Aint seen blood of Christ, but saw some toast with Christ image sell....

Strange stuff no one in there right mind sells all the time on the internet...

Saw one were they threw the change in the pocket on ebay and they made money  ......

Again who are you to me but just a user name... Same with ebay is that;

You are not going to get anything done with this stuff, so why waste you time????

Frankly, when you accuse someone of criminal activity such as fraud, one might.

When someone is selling a Flying Yellow School Bus - Nobody needs credentials.

They Don't Exist - Is it that hard to Google?

A google search has no standing in a court of law.

Ebay is not going to take your word that those seeds are fakes.   You have no ebay credential as a listing sheriff.   Also, you may be a malicious competitor.   Get over it.

Re: Why Does Ebay Continue to Promote the Sale of Fake/Fraudulent Seeds?

A Google Search is an easy starting point for the lazy.

Next - Confirm that no reputable Seed Company (those that produce Real Seed) sells such as the Blue Strawberry that Does Not Exist except in Photoshop Land.

Finally, while in Court,  have the Fake Seed Seller present an Actual Blue Strawberry plant grown from their seed.

Are you selling Fake Seed on Ebay, Amazon, or Etsy? -  as you want me to get over it so you can continue your scam.

Re: Why Does Ebay Continue to Promote the Sale of Fake/Fraudulent Seeds?

While the OP choose seeds as their example and people jumped all over are you and expert whatever...the fact is the point is valid. eBay allows tons of fakes, reproductions, etc. that are sold as real or original. Unless it's a VERO violation, there is nothing to be done.

There is no question this hurts the marketplace. People who are burned by others less likely to stick around and buy your stuff. With all the rules eBay lays down, few if any address the problem the OP raises.

Some people buy plants and seeds because they think they will look nice in their garden. They are not experts. And while I agree one seller reporting another is a he said/she said kind of thing, we see many reports on these boards of people having legitimate goods taken down because someone claimed they were counterfeit.

Maybe OP should report the Dept of Agriculture. There must be some kind of rules about about accurracy in seeds and/or possibly selling invasive species.
