What can I do about a seller who keeps selling fake microphones

Hi Everyone,

I bought a  Sennheiser e945 mic from Ebay, which turned out to be fake.  I suspected something was amiss because the quality and handling noise was  so poor.  I was then able to confirm it by finding website & youtube video that shows how to spot the fake.  Furthermore, I then actually bought the same mic from authorized dealer (paying full retail on Ebay), which has security features the fake doesn't have in addition to sounding so much better.   I have informed the seller and Ebay.   To the seller's credit, they refunded my money, refused to take the mic back to resell it, and said they would correct the issue.   All this communication was done through Ebay.   Now, to my shock, I see the seller is continuing to sell the fake mic on Ebay.    I gave the seller negative feedback (the first time ever in my 20 years of being a member), but Ebay removed it  because the seller had refunded my money.  Bottom line, this seller continues to sell this fake mic to other unsuspecting buyers.   This had hurt my opinion of Ebay, which has otherwise acted so ethically for so many years.   What else can/should I do?

Sorry, there is nothing you can do to warn others about this.

Fortunately, they have access to the Money Back Guarantee for buyers if/when they receive a fake.

Just like you did.

contact the rights owner (company) and have them join eBay VERO (Verified rights owner)  system so they can have them taken down..

Each listing has a report this item button also, try that..

Thank you for such a quick response.   I can accept not warning others, if Ebay would police the sellers after they are exposed.   Looking around Ebay, I suspect that hundreds of these mics are being sold each week by a number of sellers.   I can buy the exact fake on Ebay with everything but the fake name stenciled on the mic for 1/5 the price, so the scammers, and original items they are using to scam others, are all on sale for everyone to see.   There is so much publicity available on the web regarding fake Sennheiser and Shure microphones that I am surprised no one has taken them to task for it, i.e., the manufacturers themselves who are being cheated by a market Ebay is providing, but I'm sure Ebay's done its legal homework.  It is very sad that Ebay does not address this.   😞

Thank you for the VERO information.   I already reported the item but have seen no action yet.

eBay does not care.  I reported a seller that was selling Sennheiser iems. I reported it did not hear anything back I noticed that all he did was put up new listings and sell the same thing. When I asked him if the product was genuine or authentic he said let me check with my supplier. **bleep**. You know if it's authentic or not. He wrote back and told me that his supplier said that it was authentic. This keeps me from wanting to use eBay at all.

Buyers the receive fakes can return them for a refund.  The company would have to become a VERO member and then they could get them taken off.
