Seems like ebay's en**bleep**ificaion. I can't even filter anymore, they like amazon, continue to remove valuable filters and redefine the meaning of "sort". Ebay hasn't done the last yet, that I know of, it might have. Let me know if it's still there but somehow I can't see it.

It depends on the category. Some have an "Open box" condition option and others do not.

If your question is about search results condition filters, just above the first search result is a list of filters including "Condition", click on it to select your preference.

I do appreciate the replies, but apparently, I wasn't very clear. I wanted only NEW, not OPENBOX at all. I swear all three used to be checkable filter items. Now there is only new and used. You can't check or uncheck OPENBOX.
In some cases, I'm okay with that, but in others, based on what I'm looking for. I don't trust it to be new all the time from sellers; therefore, I would want only NEW listings with a factory sealed box.

That being said, make sure that if your buying this new item because of the manufacture warranty, you may want to check if the seller is an authorized dealer. Just because it is listed as "New" it may not have all of the benefits of buying it "New" from an authorized seller/dealer.
It would be good to have another "Check Box" on listings that promote authorized dealers/sellers. Most buyers do not know the difference and when the find out, its too late.

That was it, I still dislike it, because if it offers new and used filtering, it should also have the open-box category but it did work. Though, selecting the exact category killed my number of results.

I agree, but personally, I don't find much new from an authorized dealer that isn't higher than other sites. Sometimes, maybe, but I'm not always worried about the warranty because most aren't worth much, and are a huge hassle if it even works to some small degree. I had this issue with my A/C and it was thousands of dollars.
I got the most trusted old brand I could find, but apparently that's all outsourced now, and the outsourced company doesn't know what's covered and what's not. Your supposed to go through your installer, but I my installer lied, lied, and lied; so I didn't want to use them for anything. They charged me over 1000% markup on the part, while still under warranty while saying it wasn't. From now on, I'll find the best installer (not company but person) and buy the AC through them or maybe by myself as the factory warranties are useless anyway, now.

I do the same. I think over all a way for buyers to know if it is from an authorized dealer only has an upside. Many buyers think if it has "New" it will be covered by the manufacture if it is defective or breaks within a reasonable amount of time (what the warranty covers). When they contact the original seller.... Crickets...... A lot of buyers do not realize what they purchased as "New" may have been plucked from the trash, garage sale or wherever. Just because it has its original packaging does not mean it qualifies as "NEW" IMHO. There was a time that we would sell items like that as NOS New Old Stock which everyone understood it was used item in great condition. Personally i would like to see Ebay stop selling NEW items in general. Just keep it a flea market and spin off a NEW ONLY site to avoid confusion.
I do agree it would be nice to see more condition options on ALL listings.

Selecting the category worked but it filtered results further. Wierd that the option was new or used until the category was selected

Yes, "open box" is still there...I just checked today for a category where I last remember seeing it when I bought something a year ago (compact cameras). Maybe not for all things eBay but it is there.
