After a purchase, I'd like to go back and view the complete listing, including photos and complete item description to ensure I get exactly what I was paying for. When I go to the listing in my "Purchased" location, I only get a very abbreviated version, one tiny photo and no description. Is there a way to see the original listing as advertised after purchase?

If you are using the eBay app, tap on the image of the item in the Purchases list, tap the image again on the next screen, then scroll down and you should see a link to "see full description". At least it works that way for me using the latest version of the eBay app on my Android phone.

I'm in the US, but I'm able to see the complete listings of items in my Purchase History. Hmmm... 🤔

Thank you, I was using the web version but I've downloaded the app and can now see the details.

All sorted now by using the app and not the web version 🙂

I have a question though. You say you like to review the complete listing including photos and description to ensure you get exactly what you pay for AFTER you make the purchase.
Why don't you do this BEFORE you make the purchase? It seems to me this could be a problem if you receive an item and become upset because of something YOU missed in the photos or text.
Regarding text, even here in the U.S. some things in one part of the country may be called something differently or phrased differently in another part.

I believe the original poster means that it is useful once the item has been received to compare it to the description to see if there are any differences between the listing and the actual item in hand, not that the description was not read before bidding or buying. The description is useful both before and after purchase, but for different reasons.

Understood; so maybe I misinterpreted the way they phrased it.

On the web (on ebay.com) you either get a short form listing page for the item, where you can click on a link to view the full "original listing", OR you get a listing page for some other active listing that the bots think is a good substitute for the item in the listing you are looking for, in which case click the photo in the box on top that references the actual listing you were looking for.

Thank you, that's exactly what I meant.
Of course I read the details before bidding but once received I like to check that the item matches what was described.

Thank you for replying. I thought that is what I was doing but to no avail, perhaps it's the UK website. I downloaded the app and can see the details on tgat.
