Trying To Shop For Xmas, Could Not Find The Old Categories That I Liked To Browse In

The sub-categories disappeared, now there are too many items all lumped together.  I just can't be bothered.

Just have to vent.  Bits

@bitsnpieces,

Yes, ebay made some sweeping changes to the search categories, without first consulting those who would be most affected.  However, there are ways to get the results you want and if you tell us what search title/terms and the Category you used, we may be able to help you find relevant results for what you are searching for.

The search now is based more on item specifics, than the listing titles or description.  However, on the first search results page just under the Blue Search button there is a check box Include Description.  Check it and you may get better results.  Also very general search terms may need to be rewritten to be a bit more specific.

You can view some of the changes by reading the info in the link below and opening the link in it.

You can usually filter your own results if you have an idea of what you are looking for. If you are searching for postcards and want a particular subject (city, state, eagle, etc.), try searching with the terms "postcard" + subject. If you are looking for ruby stained Early American Pattern Glass, use "EAPG" + "ruby" in the search. Each time, though, make sure that "All Categories" is selected to the right of the search bar  or you are likely to miss things.
