Ebay does not have their own tracking as they are not the carriers, and their info is simply culled from that carrier's online info. It can be simplified to fit into the site. You can always copy/paste the number into the carrier's site for a better breakdown, usps.com ups.com fedex.com etc. etc.
If it's important, you have a phone in your pocket. It only takes a little looking, ebay already holds buyers' hands quite tight.

*afterthought* You can actually just google a tracking number and it should just take you to that carrier site.
And this worldwide carrier tracking app will blow your mind should you need other carrier info> https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/5336766910580412945

You need to contact your seller directly if you want to address them. You are not purchasing your item from Ebay directly but an individual seller. This is a community of your peers who answer questions and give you advice. You are not addressing Ebay here. You did the right thing. One day after the estimated delivery date you filed the "item not received" case. You will then have Ebay step in soon.

I have noticed that when a package starts to stay in one place, or just show an "on its way" designation that can be a sign to watch. This of course is for USPO shipping.
I have found that a way to dislodge something that is either travelling around the country for days, or stuck in limbo is to open a missing mail case. That has seemed to get the USPO to get the package moving again. I currently have one case with them open on a package coming from New Hampshire that has been in transit at the same location since Nov. 15. It was shipped on Nov. 7th. I just opened the missing mail case and hope it will dislodge it.

ebay will tell you to wait until they see that the item is "lost in the mail". I have already been down that road with them in the past.

"I have found that a way to dislodge something that is either travelling around the country for days, or stuck in limbo is to open a missing mail case."
There are some that disagree with that but.....I once ordered an item from a seller in Europe (different venue). I totally forgot about the order and didn't realize it had never arrived. A couple of months later I ordered again from the same person and they asked how I liked my previous order.
I then realized I never received the first order and the seller said to wait and see what she could find out.
A few days later she told me it had been sitting in a NY post office the whole time. She somehow tracked it to NY where it had been sitting in a NY PO all that time. I received it a few days later.
Sometimes it seems to require a little prodding to get things moving................

Did you get mail from friends in Canada faster than here in the USA when Canada Mail was on strike?
I got items from priority mail and yes they are running a few days late.
Let's be clear....on the radio or TV or computer or in the papers weather is crappy from the midwest to Texas to the east coast...do you not listen to weather reports?

I don't contact Ebay customer service at all in these situations. One day after that estimated delivery date hits I would file a case unless the seller is in constant communications. OP is blaming Ebay when it's a carrier issue.

This is when eBay will tell you that you need to wait until the USPO stops tracking it. I had that happen to me when something was blocked in USPO last Christmas. I couldn't file a not received claim until the USPO stopped tracking it. I ended up filing with my credit card and was refunded and that got me yelled at, so to speak from eBay etc. One of those don't do it again or there will be repercussions about my use of the site.
