Bought parts and watched the shipping track all the way to the US. Then once it hit the US. NOTHING.
Item is on its way. Come on. Then I'm suppose to contact the seller.. They shipped it and it tracked all the way into LAX. Who the hell is in charge of it once it hits the US. (pitney bowes). Somewhere E bay you need to get a handle on this. Bunch of crap. Dont like my message then get someone off their butt and fix this .

There should have been an estimated delivery date in the listing. If/when that date has passed by at least a day, you can open an item not received case.
Your complaint seems to be with either the seller or with the delivery service, not eBay.
Lastly, when your post here, you're addressing a very large group of fellow buyers and sellers. It's highly unlikely that any eBay employee will see your message here.

Once an item hits the U.S, it has to go trough customs before it is passed on to the domestic shipping agency USPS, FedEx, UPS. Once it is received by them then the domestic tracking will update.
FYI, Pitney Bowes only sells postage, bulk postage stamp machines etc. They do gather tracking info second hand from the actual shipping agencies and ebay uses them for the tracking displayed on the site. I always check a shipper's site for their tracking updates.

eBay, has nothing to do with how a shipping agency or the customs service performs. In the future if you are buying parts that are time sensitive, do not order them from chinese sellers. Chances are high, even if they arrive on time that they will have fitment and/or quality issues. Pay more and only buy from recognized U.S. based parts suppliers. The sellers who use U.S. flag symbols and say they are U.S. sellers on their listings, are actually China based or drop ship from there.

Unfortunately I do order from Chinese parts suppliers, in their defense I have had little problems with the merchandise I purchase. Returns are relatively few and most of the time very easy.
If I could have purchased from a US based parts supplier I would have. I spent hours looking for a US distributor. But the parts are for machinery that is not manufactured in the US. Therefore I have to source outside the US for that part. which by the way was not Chinese.
I source parts thru amazon and e bay and by far I have less issues with amazon.
My point is what is amazon doing different to allow me to track shipments to my door over e bay? So where is the shippers site because when it made it to the US all information stopped for weeks. Shouldn't take 2 weeks to go thru customs if the seller has done their part. From my stand point on this I am leaning toward e bay and the money back guarantee is all they need to provide buyers. But without satisfied buyers they go elsewhere. Maybe they can't do anything but maybe they can and choose not to. Dont get me wrong I will use the money back guarantee and I will get it back. That is not my point. To improve on this issue will bring e bay millions more in revenue and further their business matrix. I would have paid a bit more just for information tracking on this part. Heavy machinery is time sensitive and knowing when or if a part is showing up or delayed or stuck in transit helps businesses make decisions. NO INFO does not.

Sometimes items coming from overseas wind up being assigned a different tracking number once they hit the US. Try a site like Universal Package Tracking to see if that's what happened in your case

My point of this post wasn't to point fingers but to bring awareness to the issue of frustration both by sellers and buyers on shipping. E bay is a worldwide business and when issues arise only the biggest players get to put pressure on changes that benefit both sellers and buyer.
Shippers rely on businesses such as e bay for one. So if other platforms can bridge the gap between when a seller ships to a customer and when a buyer will receive that item. Wouldn't that inspire more businesses to
use that platform. Even shippers stepping up and making business model software changes that would want consumers and sellers to use their platform. Concept taken from a fool on the last post.

Did you ever receive your package? I ordered something from the UK and live near Los Angeles. My package cleared customs and was "collected from airline" at LAX airport almost 7 days ago and not a single update since.

Not sure what you want Ebay to fix?
They don't control customs or the shipping companies.

Since @earlp123 has not updated us since the topic was written, I doubt they will see your question and respond. No one on these boards or at ebay can help you with your issue. The lack of tracking updates is due either delays in Customs or at the shipping agency's facility. Have you tried contacting the domestic shipping agency to find out what has happened to your package?

Well it is in fact eBay that is in charge of the Global Shipping Program. Once the seller sends their item to their local Pitney Bowes/eBay Global shipping center, the seller's shipping obligations are done. The package is now in the hands of Pitney Bowes/eBay. So they are quite literally in control of what is going on with my package.
Also, it cleared customs and was collected from the airline 7 days ago. So this isn't an issue with customs. The package is just sitting around.

eBay / Pitney Bowes is unable to provide me with the actual final shipping carrier. All I have is a Pitney Bowes tracking number that hasn't been updated in 7 days despite showing that the package cleared customs at a nearby airport and was collected from the airline.

Did actually clear customs or is it at an ISC?
Scans can indicate an item has cleared customs when it actually HASNT And is only being categorized for processing.
INTERNATIONAL shipments can sit in customs and THEN distribution centers after processing for days, weeks, up to a month. I have done much, MUCH business with overseas sellers enough to know how the process works.
all buyers need to realize that it’s not the seller, the originating country’s post, the US post or eBay’s fault when tracking drops off for a long period once the item ships. It is not as cut-and-dried as domestic shipping, as you now have additional restrictions, fees and possible penalties applied.
Customs will process it when it processes it. And then it will sit in a DC until it can move again. Even domestic shipments can stay parked in regional DCs for weeks… look at Texas. It is sitting in a huge warehouse of pallets. As long or as short as it takes - it’s going to wait. And it will wait even longer if taxes/ duties weren't paid, or if the item is lawfully restricted. With the large volumes of items coming into the US, it isn’t an overnight deal.
nobody’s butt is going to make your stuff move faster, and all you are doing is yelling at the wrong people and raging against the machine.

I ordered items from 3 different sellers located in China around the same time as this UK package and they all arrived over a week ago. Probably because Pitney Bowes didn't insert their incompetent selves into the shipping process.
Really don't understand how you think it's okay for packages to sit for weeks or months in a warehouse. Greedy companies like Pitney Bowes love your attitude. They get rewarded for cost-cutting in every which way and don't give a **bleep** about customers.
