It used to be, after I cleared my PC cache and logged back into ebay, the search box would have "suggested" searches based on what I had left in the search box prior to clearing the cache. These choices were in purple font, but there was the option to turn off or remove these suggestions once logged back in, in the lower right of the drop-down list.
This seems to have disappeared (see image)
Any ideas? Or is it one more broken or missing function due to ebay always tinkering with $h1t?

You may still be able to hide those eBay suggestions to reveal your browser's saved search terms from previous searches. If the "hide" link does not appears in the lower right corner of the drop-down on ebay.com, see if that appears when using the search bar on the community pages above.
Sometimes the "hide" option is not available in a particular browser.
If you are unable to "hide" eBay's suggestions, you can still reach your browser's saved search terms by using the search field on the Advanced Search page -- no eBay suggestions appear there.

It is the "Hide eBay suggestions" option I'm remembering, thanks. And it has always worked in FireFox, right up till I cleared my cache and history. Now it's just gone.
Chrome does have a different layout, "Recent Searches" with X's to remove, "Saved Searches" and "Saved Sellers" all in the same drop-down.
ETA: hitting the X doesn't actually make the search go away, so there's that.

This just started happening for me last week. In Firefox, I only get eBay Suggested searches. The "Hide eBay Suggestions" is no longer an option. I had so many canned searches in my browser. eBay is all about pissing off sellers, making us less efficient, and providing no communication of changes.

Ebay is all about pissing everybody off. I think they aren't keeping up with newer versions of browsers, but not sure. They seem to like making changes nobody wants.
Also, I keep getting unrelated Lenovo laptops when I search for "E6540" or "E5570" which are Dells, and nowhere in any part of these listings do those keywords/terms appear.

Until the recent community board upgrade it was possible to use the "Hide Suggestions" link that appeared there, but now there is no eBay search bar on the community pages.
You should still be able to reach your browser's saved search terms by going to the Advanced Search page and using the search bar there -- no eBay suggestions appear there.

Thanks. That's a slightly easier workaround than going to the mobile app and clearing "all" searches.
It would seem then that this is an intended change on Ebay's part that hasn't translated to the Advanced Search page yet.
Best option would be for them to stop screwing around with very basic things like this.

The "Hide Suggestions" link may come back for you -- it has disappeared and come back several times in recent memory for me.
In the mean time, you may want to bookmark some of your searches just in case your browser loses its saved form data, or in case eBay changes the Advanced Search page.
