Shipping issues with multiple sellers

Hello!

So I've bought around 200 or so Pokemon card singles on eBay, as well as several other types of items. I have a very good idea on shipping for single cards. For reference, I've also poured through USPS' site and gotten down all kinds of types of shipping and their amounts and charges, just to keep up on their most current changes and rates.

I've been on chat with eBay four times in the last two days (a total of around 9 hours) for several issues, the common one being shipping. Today, I've sent messages to three sellers about their shipping because they claimed USPS First Class and either didn't provide tracking when appropriate or the item arrived and it was a total different (and nearly free) method of shipment I wasn't sold. I've reported sellers who insisted on continuing their lies or ignoring me, received partial refunds by the better ones, and have told eBay about these issues. I'm still going through my purchases checking everything though, so there may be more.

How can you better report this kind of issue? It's rampant on eBay with trading cards. In my case, I avoid risky shipping methods listed on sales, but when they list : "USPS First Class" and charge upwards of $5 for a single trading card, I'm expecting tracking because it's coming bubbled up in a larger package that warrants it. But instead, I'm getting flimsy letters with regular postage stamps. I'm tired of going in circles with sellers and speaking to eBay about it.

So is there a way to report this so it actually gets looked at? If not, is there a better way to avoid this issue in the future (aside from the obvious suggestion of not buying on eBay)? For the majority of my buys, it's been acceptable all the way up to awesome. I love most of what I've gotten and the prices. It's these few that try to weasel extra money out of people, and eBay doesn't have a better (and substantially faster) system in place to correct it. To top it off, to open a request, it claims you wait 3 days, then tells you to wait six, which is a known... "oddity". This is just getting very frustrating when I'm paying $4-5 for most of these single cards and so many of them don't deserve that amount.

Sorry for the novel. As an aside, if anyone knows of a better, more reliable online method of buying and selling Pokemon cards, I'd love to hear it.

Shipping issues with multiple sellers

Am I able to do this for the shipping method alone, even if the item was as described? That's my dilemma. I don't understand where this falls under and it's happening CONSTANTLY. I don't want to make it my full-time job to sit with eBay on this every single time anymore. In addition, I have yet to see any refund for the other shipping issues eBay claimed they gave me.

So, I'm honestly just not sure. I've read over tons of the help articles, through the forums, etc. It's not being talked about from what I can see.

You are aware that under eBay's rules, sellers aren't required to furnish tracking numbers to buyers, right?  Thus you really have nothing to report.  If the item doesn't arrive by the final day of the estimated delivery period, you can file an INR dispute the following day.

Read the money back. If it was not what you ordered, file a not as described.

I'm fully aware of this. Per my post, my issue is the seller listed one way of shipping, thus setting certain expectations and then used a completely different and far, far cheaper method. They stole my money. That's my issue. Not necessarily the tracking alone.

Shipping issues with multiple sellers

Thank you for your advice. That's basically all I've been able to do. EBay hasn't invented a real way to combat this yet that I can find and it seems others don't understand what my issue is with these sellers.

It seems you understand the point of my anger with this whole issue. In the last three days, I've had to carefully sift through my purchases and keep tabs on shipments far more closely than I did before, on top of contacting eBay with the results for those who abused the shipping charge. I see all the time in the Pokemon card arena on eBayand typically I can avoid the overcharging they do. For example, charging $10 shipping for a single trading card sent via eBay trading cards, postcards, stamps, and cards under $20 envelope, that's what's happened all over eBay.

But it's far worse when you're encountering what I have been where a seller says in the listing "USPS First Class with tracking" or even just USPS First Class and then sends you a cheap, nearly see-through letter envelope with a stamp. That's why I'm so frustrated with all of this. I've confronted a few who did refund me the difference, but the other recent one just lied then ignored me, so I reported then for lying in their listing.

Thank you again for your input. I feel better that at least one person understood my issue here. I just wish I knew how to fix it better....
