Sellers losing sales due to managed payments

We are buyers as well as sellers on Ebay and when my wife runs across a sellers that has managed payments and doesn't accept Paypal we just move on to someone who does or go to another site.

If you sign up for the free PayPal debit card, you can use that for sellers who are in managed payments.  Signing up for a PayPal debit card is painless and involves no credit check. I was hesitant at first, too, but the card arrived quickly, and I've used it for other online retailers who don't take PayPal. It's very convenient.

Also, according to eBay, managed payments WILL accept PayPal sometime in the future.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but why wouldn't your wife just open a Google Pay account? It's, for all intents and purposes, the same thing.

PayPal will be available through the managed payments system sometime this year. (At one time, it was suggested it would be available this summer.) Maybe the item your wife wants will still be available. Or maybe it will be sold to someone who doesn't require that their transactions be processed by PayPal.

Up to her, really.

I believe that PayPal can now be used with eBay's Managed Payments.  Alas!  If you really don't want to use the Managed Payments scheme of eBay's I feel that you will soon be disappointed as I foresee Managed Payments as something eBay will eventually force on all sellers here.

We have a paypal debit card. My wife has tried using it to pay sellers fees and Ebay wouldn't accept it so I guess we just assumed that neither would a seller in managed payments. Anyway thanks and as far as I'm concerned "managed payments" is for the birds.

Oh I know Ebay will move everyone to "managed payments". Personally I think it stinks the way Ebay is encroaching on all of our businesses. Why can't they just be a venue and leave us the heck alone? They act like they are the ones selling all the stuff on the site. We do all the work and they want to take all the credit.
