I bought a tie set a few days ago. Seller said that item is sold out, would I like something else? I said no, I want only the item I bought. Seller said they could have it shipped from their main warehouse. I replied I don't care if it takes longer if it is the correct item.
Got the item today (verified by the tracking number on the ebay transaction). It was some kind of ring, for your finger, or a napkin holder.
I initiated a "not as described" case. I was provided a return label, then it stated I will be refunded after delivery. I believe the seller is trying to pull a fast one. As long as I return the item with the supplied label and it is delivered, I should be refunded? The return address on the label isn't even the same that it was shipped from...

Did you get a return label a few seconds after you clicked the "Confirm return" button?
But before that, did eBay say "Please provide photos to [sic] this return" and you had to take a photo of the not-a-tie-set? If so, what's up with the scam -- no one looked at the photo, you just got a return label anyway!

Hmmmmm.... That whole transaction sounds odd from the get- go. Item not in stock, told to send correct item and they send you some kinda ring (!) And then send a return label with a completely different seller address?
I don't like the sound of any of that. I feel like your return will somehow be closed out and you left hanging. Have you attempted to talk to a CS rep by any chance? They used to be very helpful in helping me avoid making mistakes in situations like these, not as sure nowadays, butttt....

You have a money back guarantee on this platform. You opened the correct return case to qualify. You used the label which came with your return case. You should be fine and no reason not to think so. This platform weighs heavily on the buyer's side in order to keep them happy. It may still take a few days after being delivered but just follow the prompts and you should be fine. Come back if you run into any snags....

maybe the seller was intentionally trying to avoid an out of stock hit.
the seller has dodged a bullet
if you send the wrong item you dont get an out of stock hit
I am sure the shipping on a tie is low price going both ways
