Hi all.
So I bought an item, and within minutes of paying I realized it was the wrong item and I went to cancel the item. Had to wait for the reply. The next day I see that my cancel was rejected and the seller sent my item ( a $209 item).
I do not want this thing, the newer/better is just $50 more. I'm soo peeved.
He also ,off course, doesn't accept returns.
I did start a return ,even though the item hasn't arrived yet, and I have not seen a reply from the seller about that.
What are my options, other leaving a negative review?
Thanks

Negative feedback because you bought before you looked at all your options. How on earth is that on the seller?
Sellers are not required to cancel. Each seller sets their own return policy.
Opening a return when you have nothing in hand to return, is a sure fire way to negate your buyer protection.
If you leave negative, the seller should be able to have it removed.

We all make mistakes, I cancelled within minutes. The seller is just being an ass.

I emailed him again, he hadn't shipped yet and will refund me. Problem solved!

Next time, take the time, & do all your research Before making a purchase commitment.

The time to decide if you wish to buy something is before you do it not after. You should have done your homework. The seller has no obligation to accept a request to cancel and if the seller has a no returns policy they do not have to accept a return. Unless, of course, the item arrives and is NAD. However, based on what you've posted here that may not be likely but that can only be determined after the item arrives. Too automatically file a NAD return would technically be fraud on your part.

Actually, in my opinion, this is somewhat of inappropriate comment. It is you that failed to d your due diligence before making the purchase.

It appears that you have lucked out. However, I hope that the thread isn't deleted so that other sellers can see your attitude and take the appropriate action warranted.

i sold an item, had packed it and was in the process of buying the label when the seller complained about something clearly mentioned in the description
I cancelled it and blocked him.
Far easier than dealing with the crap later

Actually, unless the buyer specifically stated that they wished to cancel the transaction, you might have earned yourself a defect by the action you took.

I've just had this experience. I cancelled within 10 minutes of my purchase on saturday i.e. non-trading hours. And then 3 days later I get a too late to cancel response.
This policy is all wrong. There should be a grace period where cancellations should be accepted. Especially in this day an age of wastage. Goods are being shipped to people that don't want them and that is not only creating waste but an unnecessary carbon footprint and energy costs through delivery. Ebay need to start putting the environment first.
Now I have to pay the return and the unwanted goods (that could easily have been cancelled) will have travelled twice as far as necessary increasing global warming and wasting energy just to go back to where they came from. This is an unethical policy.

Buyers should understand they can request to cancel but the seller is not obligated to cancel. Some hold the buyer's feet to the fire and won't cancel because to cancel costs them $. Not a lot but still it costs them when they cancel, and some are unable to cancel because the order may be given to their distributor immediately after you pay.

That period is up until you click the button that says you COMMIT to buy the item. Not 10 minutes or 1 hour of whatever you find convenient later. The time to decide to buy is BEFORE you buy, not after.
