Search is not responding to filters on left margin of page.

I was doing a search for some PC games and I use the Platform filter in the left margin to only give items listed as PC.  Even though I place a check mark in the box, when the page refreshes it has not eliminated the non-PC items and is still the same number of total items prior to using the filter.  I have tried this a number of times with different titled items.  Anyone know what is going on?

I seem to recall a similar post not too long ago that also had to do with a problem with filters in the video game category. I do not think there was any resolution, though. I tried a few searches and got some odd results that did not seem right, but I was not sure what the actual problem was.

What search are you doing?

There may be an alternative search that gets the results you want, with a little extra effort.

Did a search "arena" (looking for the PC game).  1st search page gave me 96,058 items under all categories.  Clicked the "Video Game & Consoes" filter and the new listing has 2,588 items listed.  Clicked the "Video Games" filter and the new listing has 2,229 items listed.  Clicked the "PC" filter (298), under category PLATFORM,  and the new listing is now showing 2,228 items,  the Platform category is closed and if I open it up the PC box does not have a check mark?   I've done this 4 separate times with arena and other game names and the result is always the same.  The search filter does not respond to any of the platform choices.

Thanks for explaining your search method -- I have recreated your search using Firefox Developer Edition, and though my numbers are slightly different, the search seems to work for me. When I click on the "PC" choice under the Platform filter, the results narrow to 306, as predicted by the filter option.

What browser are you using? It should not matter, but I want to see if I can recreate the problem. It might be worth trying another browser -- in some cases an extension like an ad blocker may affect filter menu operation. If you can narrow the effect down to a single browser, then it might be possible to figure out what is different about that browser setup.

Thanks for your comprehensive response.  Should have mention my browser is Google Chrome and I had not thought of this but I use DuckDuckGo search & Kaspersky Protection which may have some type of blockers?

Also, I retried the "arena", w/o the quotes, search and got the same result but if I do a search using "elder arena", w/o the quotes (for the game "Elder Scrolls Arena") then I can get the information I was seeking.
