Hello. Someone please tell me how to speak to an actual person at EBAY and not an automated machine. I have had guys from India talking to me over the phone & they were rude & told me to go to the nearest store to buy $800 worth of gift cards to purchase this car with. The owner of the car will not speak to me which makes me suspicious. The guys from India said they worked for EBAY then said AMAZON. They cussed me out & hung up on me when I said this feels like a scam. They didn't know anything other than send the gift cards. How do I report this to the fraud department? I am also taking these emails & phone numbers to the police! Someone please help me because I almost paid $800 for this car. A number to speak to someone directly over the phone at EBAY. Thank you BEWARE OF SCAMMERS! 😡😡😡🚔🚔🚔🚔

If so you money is GONE.
AS FOR THE OTHER SCAMMERS YOU USED A PHONE NUMBER YOU FOUND FOR HELP ON THE INTERNETS AGAIN A scam... if you let them examine your systems: you need to run anti virus and such.

First. congratulations on spotting this for the scam it is and not falling for it.
Second, there is no reason to contact eBay because eBay is not involved in this is any way. It is not how eBay works. You found this on some site other than eBay, like Facebook or Craig's List. If you want to report it, report it to the site where you found the ad, which was not eBay Motors.
It is an old, old scam. The car does not exist. The name of the person "selling" it is fake. The sob story to explain its cheap price is a lie. All the "invoices" and "receipts" are bogus. They want gift cards because they cannot be traced and you can never recover your money. eBay cannot help, because eBay has nothing to do with it. Law enforcement cannot help, because the scammer and all his acocunts will vanish in the flash of an electron.
Thank goodness you did not fall for this!

Again, no reason to contact eBay because eBay had no involvement in this transaction.
Those phone #s are not eBay numbers and you should not make any phone calls when you have no idea who you are contacting.
What you need to do is report this scam attempt to the site where it was found.
Congratulations on figuring this out BEFORE you lost some money.
eBay has NO involvement in sales of goods on any other site. Why would they?

That is the first sign of trouble " I have had guys from India talking to me over the phone" .
Nothing to do with eBay. Those scammers just use the eBay name to try and steal your money.
They get so upset when people don't fall for their scams. Sounds like you caused them to have a cow. And that's not allowed in India.
eBay never assists in sales or payments of items on other sites. eBay will never tell you to purchase gift cards. Payment choice is always left the the buyer.

No legitimate car purchase is made using gift cards. Using gift cards to purchase anything is the easiest way in which to LOSE your money. Once the money has been taken from the gift cards, you cannot get it back — the money is gone.
Anyone who directs you to go to a store to purchase gift cards with which to purchase anything is a scammer.
If the seller of a car will not meet with you to discuss the car, to allow you to examine the car, to allow you to drive the car, or to allow you to have a mechanic examine the car then the sale of the car is a scam.
If you plan to purchase a car then you should have the car examined by a mechanic to determine the condition of the car and to determine if the car is worth the money that you are being asked to pay. Do not be so desperate as to buy a car sight-unseen as such a purchase is as-is — without warranty and without recourse. Pictures are meaningless in regard to the function of a car and promises made by someone selling are car are equivalent to lies — you do not know the person selling the car.
Do not be in such as hurry to buy a car. In addition to getting the car checked by a mechanic to determine if the car is working and worth the money that you would pay, you must make sure that you are buying the car from the actual owner. The person from whom you buy a car must be named on the title: you cannot purchase and register a car without clean title. Finally, you must make sure that there are no liens (that is, no debts related to the car) on the car as, otherwise, you would have to repay those debts in order to own the car; if you do not do so then the lien holder could claim the car.
Take your time when purchasing a car. Do not be fooled by smooth-talkers or pressured into making a purchase which could be from as scammer (like this one!). If you are not careful, you will lose your money and still not have a car.
If something seems too good to be true then it most likely is too good to be true.
Finally, no one “partners” with eBay to sell cars. If you find listings on, for example, Facebook Marketplace or Craigs List stating that the sale is in partnership with or through eBay then you are being SCAMMED. Ignore the listing so that you so not lose your money.

Total scam, but just wondering how you thought you would get the $800.00 car all the way from India?
I imagine shipping would be astronimical LOL

OMG massive scam. Stop, think and never do that again on here.

My goodness, I just cannot believe how these people even get to square one on here with these outrageous scams with people.

EBay does not have phone reps who work for them. Those guys work for a subcontractor in Utah. They are poorly trained.
You want the employees who cover eBay's social media accounts.
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851
https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/ — Message button in upper right on landing page.
https://twitter.com/askebay?lang=en
The first one leads to a callback, but the best advice seems to be from the Facebook crew, who open a Chat.
This means that not only do you get good advice from a well trained employee who has some authority, but you get a transcript of the Chat that you can review to see if what you heard is actually what you were told .
But actually you seem to have found scammers by googling around instead of looking at the bottom of most eBay pages where Help and Contact is found.
While there are overseas reps working for eBay, they are not in India but in the Philippines.

go to the nearest store to buy $800 worth of gift cards to purchase this car with.
Did you even find the car on eBay?
This sounds like the Kubota Tractor scam- which is even older than the internet. AutoTrader, among others, has been fighting it since they were print only.
There is no car.
She isn't a woman.
She isn't stationed in Syria or Afghanistan or on a oceanographic survey of the North Atlantic.
There is no cheating husband or wife.
There is no car.
EBay has nothing to do with the scam.
Report it to the site where you found the ad.
There is no car.

I just had the same problem the phone number I called to contact Ebay customer service I googled and it gave me Ebay.com 888-932-4398. Someone woman in a India voice answered and never said thank you for being a 16 year buyer with Ebay like Ebay customer service always says. The india woman said thank you for contacting Amazon, than said I mean Ebay this made me super suspicious and there was a lot of noise in the background while she was talking to me all in India voices. She asked what my name was and the issue and I told her. Than she asked what email is my Ebay account under and I told her. Than she told me that she will be refunding my money from a seller immediately. Than she laughed at me because I couldn't understand what she was saying. I told her I paid by PayPal and she didn't seem to thrilled. Than she asked me if I was on my phone or another device, I thought this was odd. I hung up on her and she called me back and texted me stating that it was her direct line from phone number 678-783-4403 a Georgia phone number!
I never answered or opened the text or answered the phone call and I immediately changed my email in which my Ebay account is under.

Where I live an $800 car will have 230,000 miles on it, a cracked windshield and no a/c and it might run and stop but it will need tires and a lot of work.

ANY phone number for eBay you get from Google is to a SCAMMER.
eBay does NOT have any phone number where they can be contacted directly currently. We can just request a 'callback' or contact them on social media.
I'm glad you realized the truth before losing any money, as this scam is rampant!
