Restrictions on bidding

What does it mean when a seller does not permit me to bid due to "restrictions" placed by the seller. There is no explanation and no reason that I can understand for my bid to be rejected or blocked. I have been an ebayer for 12 years and have a 100% rating. Any explanation?

Restrictions on bidding

Have you ever purchased and not paid for an item ?

Some sellers have blocks in place to restrict buyers who have more than 2 non paying items strikes.

Is the seller off shore and maybe does not ship internationally?

That is all I can think of

Restrictions on bidding

@amfsbf18av,

If you are bidding on several of the seller's auctions they may have set a limit on how many items you can buy or bid on at any one time.  New or inexperienced sellers my not realize there is a default setting on their Buyer requirements that:

Automatically blocks buyers who are currently winning or have bought [ 1 ] item from you in the last 10 days.

Your seller would have to go to their Account > selling preferences > managing who can buy from you > Edit,   to change the setting.

Restrictions on bidding

Since A reason does not have to be provided to you, the solution is to find a seller who currently has not restricted you from bidding.

Seller could have place you on blocked bidders list.

Two or more unpaid strikes and you can be blocked by sellers.

To many items in cart, or to many items at one time on a sale can be blocked also.

No way for us users to say the why of such.

Contact seller if you can, and ask them to temp remove block: May or may not do so.

Well, of course you do, because eBay eliminated negative feedback for buyers 13 years ago.
