I accidentally ordered an item with the wrong address and immediately contacted the seller to let them know.
12 hours later, they have marked the item as shipped before responding to my message. They have cancelled the order on their end, but it still is marked as shipped. So I started the returns process.
Now the process is stuck asking for a UPS tracking number, which I can't give because I do not have the item. They also cannot cancel the order on their end.
I cannot seem to get to the Ebay to a step In request, because it takes me back to the returns process.
Can an EBay representative or admin please step in and help me out?

Sometimes shipping labels are made immediately after payment is made and eBay tells you it's been shipped but it could take all day or the next day before they actually mail it. You were wrong to ask for a refund and then immediately open a return request. A return request means you received the item and you want to return it. Now that you did that eBay expects you to return the item before you get a refund. You should've waited and let the seller cancel the transaction and refunded.

Just open a PayPal dispute for Item Not Received. Do not escalate. (This will automatically shut down any ongoing case at eBay.)
Your seller can then refund without involving PayPal, and close the dispute.
