Hello eBay community!
I have been using eBay for 1-2 years but I haven't used forums/community yet because I didn't have any problems so far. Anyway, here's my problem:
I bought a game which didn't arrive, I sent messages to the seller to inform them and waited for 2 weeks but I didn't get a serious response. Once I opened a case for an item that didn't arrive and asked for the item(not refund) they responded and said the following: The problem is that item hasn't been changed to "seller issued a full refund" or something like that, it still says "shipped"
" It seems that your order got lost in mail. We have issued a credit note for your payment today. The amount will be paid into your account shortly."
The problem is item hasn't changed status to "seller issued a full refund" or something like that, it still says "shipped" and I'm not sure I should close the case or wait for it to change to "seller.... refund"?

A few things that I want to mention:
1) I asked for the item not refund, not sure if that's blocking status change and they wait for my to accept their offer/solution.
2) I'm using a debit card, so even if they have issued a refund without item's status change, it will take some time for the money to get back.
3) Forgot what it was...
PS: My first post is kinda messed and I wrote the same thing twice. Sorry about that.

If it is past the last estimated delivery date, and you have not received the item or a refund, go to the RESOLUTION CENTER (link at the bottom of most screens) and file an Item Not Received case. The seller has to provide a tracking number that shows DELIVERED or refund your payment. If the seller does neither, then you can click the link to Ask ebay to step in.

Once they issue the refund, it could take a few days to a few weeks to show up in your account.
Don't close the case until you get your item or refund.

Yes, the seller can immediately issue a refund @kiyan-13 and close the case, regardless which option you chose, that you want the item or want a refund.
Your seller is stalling you. If you still haven't got a refund, click Ask eBay to step in as soon as that link appears.

I'm not sure if I should try to buy the item again from the same seller, item's price is good. Not sure if asking first would do any good either since most of the times I get a semiautomatic reply. Also, what if it gets lost again? .-.
Unfortunately @kiyan-13 it never was lost: Instead, this seller simply does not want to ship to you. The scam is:
1. Don't ship; if the buyer forgets about, forget about it. And keep the money.
2. If the buyer starts a refund request, refund with a delay. And get no defect.
3. Should the buyer try again, try again: Go to 1.

Hi alan@ebay, please tell Khoros the problem is the survey pop-up, which invalidates the authentication ticket while a message is being composed.

Didn't know people do that!? 🤨 Well, I guess if you lose money that way you only got yourself to blame. I mean, how can you forget that you didn't receive something that you paid?
About the seller, I don't know it doesn't seem like they are using this practice. It's a big German(I think) seller with over 4 million feedbacks(99.5% positive) and I was able to leave a feedback.
I sent them a message asking if I can buy it again, in hopes of receiving it. First I'll wait for an auction that sells the game I'm interested in and if I don't win I'll probably buy it from the same seller again.

I would have checked for a tracking number.. Stuff like this is exactly why ebay wants you to pay and ship through them. All of their shipping services come with tracking numbers. If there was no tracking number, then it is most likely as they said.. They never shipped it. But this could be due to one of many things. I have had sellers forget to put something in the mail, and they would apologize.. I have even seen sellers that would upgrade the shipping from first class to priority because of it. It is not always them trying to scam people.. But on the other end of things, I have seen sellers sell stuff too cheap, and would lose money because of the shipping, and cancel and refund because of it.. Or others that would say priority shipping and then send first class.. Either way, they can refund you at any time and close the case out.. If you still want it from them, go ahead and give them another try. Worst that will happen is they will have to give you another refund..
One other thing to consider.. If it was a while, even if they did have more, ebay has gotten strict on their policies and what they feel can hurt you.. Like when you fill out the feedback.. One of the questions is "did it arrive by .. Date?".. Since it did not get mailed, or was lost, if you filled that out, it would have to be no, and this hurts the sellers rating with Ebay, so they may have just refunded you for reasons like that.. Also, ebay seems to hide from you the form to leave feedback the second you file a claim. They may do this to try and keep you from leaving negative feedback too. All are options.

That would be a very foolish thing to do. This seller is a scammer, just trying to take your money without you making a claim to get it back. He never shipped and will do the same thing again. He doesn't have the game and never will have it. Do NOT deal with him again.
