I bought an item worth $1500 with signature required from seller. Driver hopped out with package and quickly dropped it on my steps near the sidewalk (when i have a big screened in porch for deliveries) and drove away immediately. It was stolen a few hours later. All this happened while i was at work. Fed ex says it was delivered and signed for by me! I have both FedEx and the thief on video . The police in my city do nothing for thievery EVER for anyone so that is a moot option. I've contacted the seller explaining the situation. What are my options in this scenario?

I would try filing a claim with Fed Ex stating you have video of them forging your signature which the delivery person must have done if they claim you signed when video shows otherwise. I think it's worth mentioning that forgery is a criminal offense in every state and should be an avenue of pursuit if Fed Ex chooses not to address the situation.

Since Covid -19 to limit exposure to the virus some carriers have been signing for the delivery.
Aside from that packages that are stolen after delivery aren't covered by eBay.

eBay is not responsible to cover items that were stolen from a buyer's porch. FedEx on the other hand, can be held responsible, but you will need a Police report and the video, to get them to take responsibility. Does your porch door have a sign on it telling delivery drivers to place items on the porch? If not you should get one, to prevent future incidents of this type. I do not know if a card provider will cover your loss without a report and or your video, but they too would need proof of FedEx not getting a signature.
Earlier this year I too had an issue with a FedEx delivery. The driver delivered a package for an around the corner neighbor to my address, and dropped mine off at their house, on a blustery rainy day. They did that, without ringing my doorbell which I have a very visible sign telling drivers to do so. Luckily, I happened to hear the truck pull away. I took the neighbor's package to their house, but couldn't find mine at first. It was very light and had blown across their yard fortunately getting stopped by their fence. Their customer service was not helpful, but I did go to the FedEx store at our Walmart, and got the store manager to give me a different contact number to call. Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced it or I would post it.

Are you saying my reply is **BEEE S**-1" ?
I'm just the messenger. USPS told me that over a year ago. Other carriers were doing it too. I think they should leave a notice they have a package to pick up if nobody is there to sign for the package because eBay does side with the seller if signature delivery shows it was delivered.
If the buyer knows their package requires a signature the safest thing is to be there when it's delivered or arrange to have the package picked up.
I have a sign that says Attention Delivery Driver's: Please do not leave packages unattended. It's right by the snacks and drinks I leave for them.
