Package Delay Versus Time to File a Claim

Hello Everyone;

A package for me shipped from Europe on Jan. 31 2021. I have been in communication with the seller, who asked me to wait until March 16th. I did and filed a claim for Item Not Received on that date.

It is not the seller's fault.  They have worked with me. However it is not my fault either.  I realize all the reasons why it is delayed.

The problem is how much time do I have to file Paypal claims and how long will the Item Not Received stay open? DHL won't help the seller until way into April. I assume the INR will close by then. The item is only 8.50 but the postage was over 50.00!

If the item came months later, I would pay the seller again, which is another question: if I pay the seller twice, using their Paypal email, would that mean I am "buying off ebay"?

Oh, this package is huge, so hard to lose.

Thanks

H

Paypal is 180 days. You paid 50 for 8.50 goods, and have to wait over 2 months or so to get goods? What exactly is this or how unique is it that you cant find it locally?

@squirrels1989

On Ebay you can file an INR claim for 30 days after the last estimated delivery date.

Pay Pal gives you 180 days from the time of purchase.

On the Ebay case, if you don't get a refund in a few days, return to the case and ask Ebay to step in.

Have a great day.

Some things I forgot to add. INR can be filed after the estimated arrival date,  for up to 30 days, PayPal is 180 days. If the INR is solved in your favor, you will get refunded. If item arrived in the meantime, you can pay through PayPal directly to seller, it is not really of eBay, as you are being a honest buyer and is submitting money to seller for something that you got refunded.

The ebay INR case you opened on the 16th I believe is valid for 30 days after opening it. You should be able to check the exact date in the case details. If the end date is getting close I would ask the seller to refund you before then or ask ebay to step in before your ebay MBG expires. You can always reimburse the seller if it is received after. That is not considered buying off ebay in this case
