Opening a second ebay account...???

Btw if a seller blocked you from buying on one account, it applies to any new accounts (Just a heads up)

Still a problem with not being able to create a UNIQUE USERNAME which it did not ask for when creating a new account. Instead it asked for an email address which I put in the box.  I want to be able to have a UNIQUE USERNAME which is the whole point of this charade.  I don't want my **bleep** name plastered out there for everyone else to see................

I believe that if eBay picks your name for you, you can change it immediately, otherwise you must wait 30 days between name changes.

Ebay did not pick a name for me.  I only see the email address that I used to create an account.

Although you can use an email address to sign in, you cannot use an email address as your username. eBay may assign a username based on your email address, but it will be unique.

Sign in to your new account and you can see what username you actually have, and then you can change it.

I have three eBay accounts.  One is for selling, and one is for buying, and one is for posting to these forums.  Each has a unique user name and each has its own email address.   So I'm not sure why you're having trouble.  Maybe I don't understand what it is, exactly, that you are trying to do...?

I just opened a second account 2 days ago and it gave me part of my email as the username. Go to your settings, top of page on the left, under your name, then personal information, username, edit. You can change it right away, but once you do you can't change it to something else for 30 days.

My problem is as soon as I changed a couple other settings I was immediately perm suspended. No explanation. This is the second time this has happened. They won't tell me why, that's private information. lol

I think I know what's going on. It won't ask you for your unique name when you go to open the account. It's asking for your real name. It only asks for your email, password, name and other info. Use your real name, all the same info on your existing account just a different email and password. Once you're in the account, got to your settings like I said before and change it to the one you want. I had the exact same problem.

I did this. Made my new account. It let me in, I changed my username and was changing other settings and was immediately perm banned. I had it for 15 minutes. Do you have any ideas why that would happen? That's twice it's happened now.
