Only received part of my order...

I ordered some supplies from my business. They come in packs of 25, and the listing said I was ordering 50. I ordered 2x 50 for a total of 100, but what I received was 50. The seller did note on my invoice that I ordered 2, but a mistake was made when packing and he packed 2x 25 not 2x50. It's a $50 mistake if I choose to ignore it.

I've contacted the seller (albeit only yesterday) with photos of what I received and explained that I had ordered qty of 50. He has listings of 25 which is why I think it's easy for this to be an honest mistake. I've also ordered from him before over a dozen times (the same thing, it's around $88 each order).

I haven't heard back from the seller. I proposed that I place another order right away and he can add my missing pages to the order. He ships in a flat rate box, so this won't incur extra costs. I'm a good customer and he's a good supplier, so I want to work with him so this can be fixed without anyone feeling put out.

Should this not work out, the problem I have is it's going to be very expensive for me to find another supplier. Many don't ship to Canada, and those that do have exorbitant shipping costs or the product costs around twice as much. If I have to find another supplier I don't think it can be on eBay.

Not sure what to do. I don't want to start a return request because I don't want to return what I have (or annoy the seller so he blocks me). I just want the rest of what I ordered and I've propose a solution so it won't cost the seller any extra money to resolve this.

If the seller doesn't respond in the next few days, how should I handle this?

@sin-n-dex,

If your seller is a high volume one they sometimes take longer to reply to messages, so I would give them a few more days probably until Tuesday since today and tomorrow are not considered business days by ebay.  If they have not responded by then you should file a Not As Described dispute for the shorted order.  If the seller responds by sending the rest or giving you a refund for the missing item quickly, they will not receive a defect on their account.  You can add the photos to the dispute and a message saying you feel this was a mistake.  Message them after filing the dispute and copy and paste your original message to them to it.

give him time to see the message.  If he is a larger seller he may not notice or may have been off the computer after you send the message.  If he does not answer by Tuesday send another message.  If no answer by Wednesday morning I would start an ITEM NOT as Described.

DO NOT open an item not received since you did receive something

     Give the seller time C, he's high volume and your missing items may already be in the mail. Same exact thing happened to me and I just message him and he already had it in the mail. Your seller probably doesn't want to risk losing a repeat buyer like you! Let us know if you get it.

I'm pretty sure the rest of my order isn't on it's way... it's GSP, so he would incur lots of extra charges for sending a second package. That's why I offered to buy another lot for him to just throw the missing ones in and not have to worry about extra shipping costs.

I haven't heard from him and I'm hoping it's just because he works Monday to Friday. I don't know if he's high volume or not. He only has 20 items in his store, but bulk wholesales what's there. I imagine there are many other people like me who rely on his supplies for their business.

I cleaned out the stamp shop in Hamilton for supplies yesterday and he won't order them for me because he thinks he's going under due to COVID. My B&M store doesn't order stamp supplies, but the Hamilton Stamp Guy gave me his source for me to contact them directly. They give dealers discounts on their retail prices (and the Hamilton guy passes some of that discount my way). I've asked my B&M store if they can order a large supply of pages to keep me going for a while, should things not work out with my New Jersey supplier (the one this thread is about).

I don't imagine getting my shop to order them will be a big problem, but they order very large quantities which suggests to me they don't order often. I might be forced to wait and put up with them forgetting a few times before I get them. I'll see if I can reach out to them directly for a dealers discount.
