Offers in Limbo

While I appreciate that eBay has now allowed offers for 12 hours, it's still not enough. I realize sellers can get busy but so can buyers. There really needs to be at least four hour increments available if not two especially on higher volume items. It's just not economical to watch someone post a lower priced item suddenly that you can't bid on because your offer on a different item is currently in Limbo.

Why not just allow people to just cancel best offers after 10 seconds if they find a better offer?

You can always not make an offer until you are sure you are ready to, or just buy outright.  If the price isn't what you want to pay, you can wait until one that is what you want to pay comes along.  Since this is the situation you are describing, then you won't be in that position.

The choice is yours~knowing there is a delay, do you really want to make a Best Offer?  Decide and act accordingly, but adapt to the rules and the procedure that guides how these are processed.  In life, you can't always have it your way.

That might be thought to be too long.

How about a nano second.  Wait, it might take longer than that to even submit the offer.

Um, if you don't have that seller's phone or email (you don't because eBay won't let you have either) you can retract your best offer:

When you make an offer you are asking the seller to do you a favor and sell you the item that they own for less than what they are asking for it. On top of that you want to be able to force them to decide to agree to do you this favor in a short period of time which you would like to dictate.  Interesting concept!

Personally, I would advise you to do your research and determine the best deal you can make before making an offer.  There is always a chance that you will be able to find a better price later, but when making an offer, you are the one setting the price.
