Obvious and purposeful deception

I just just bought a wig from a "bear"  seller  that was displayed and described  as White Grey. The photo is gorgeous, almost a white platinum.  However , the actual wig is a dull medium UGLY smoke grey with NO WHITE in it AT ALL!  TOTALLY  misrepresented!!! . . . and it had to be since the actual color of this wig was at least ten shades darker than the photo and no one in their right mind would wear this out in public!

Yet the seller states that there are no returns based upon the fact that the color of the actual wig doesn't match the color as depicted on their sales page!!!  How could one possibly know that the color was so hideous and way off from the photo and description since the photo was photo shopped and the description states WHITE grey wig?!!!   Having taught photography at both high school and college levels for years  I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS WAS PHOTO SHOPPED!!!

The first two photos are how the item was depicted and the last is the actual color!

Open a Return citing 'Item Not As Described'. Return the wig to the seller for a full refund. Good luck!

It doesn't matter what the seller states about returns. When an item arrives and it is not as described, returns and refunds are permitted under ebay's money back guarantee. Don't go round with the seller any longer. Open a case against them for it not being as described and if they do not issue the return postage label in the time ebay allows, simply escalate the claim and ebay will step in. You will not be out your money.

Laughing...Had my cup of coffee in my hand..started reading your post " I just bought a wig from a bear" lol my coffee flew out of my mouth! Visions of the Charmin bears and Yogi selling wigs. I think the heat is getting to me (114*) I really hope you get your money back and that 1st picture looks just like my hair, only with pink accents. It was fun to read that 1st sentence anyway..I knew you probably meant "bare"..darn spell check anyway! Good luck to you!

Nice to hear of another  woman touching up our white hair with pink highlights.

I'm trying to find a true platinum to get rid of the last of my grey.

BTW, a friend's hairdresser describes her pure white hair as "winter blonde".

To my eye the wig received is grey/white, a light grey as opposed to the darker greys.

If you cannot shop at a shop that specializes in cosplays, online try going for platinum or even white, which is how I would describe the photos from the listings, which to my eye, are not grey at all in any way.

I assume that these are not natural hair wigs. You may be able to darken a white wig  with temporary colour, but bleaching a grey wig would probably just melt it.

And yes, open a Dispute in the Resolution Center at the bottom of this page.

The reason is Not As Described.

The seller will be required to send  you return shipping and when she gets it back, refund you.

Or she can just refund you without a return, since she doesn't want to have it back (for sanitary reasons?).

Actually, in the past, owing to differences in the way monitors display color, variations in color were not considered valid reasons for SNAD disputes.  Thus if the seller had a NO RETURNS policy they could refuse the return.  Of course, there have been quite a few changes in eBay's interpretations of their own policies in recent years.

I'm afraid that your opinion of the ugliness and suitableness for wearing in public is a somewhat subjective one.   Your "I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS WAS PHOTO SHOPPED!!!" really doesn't offer any proof that that is the case.  Thus I'm not sure that the title of this thread is actually supported by the evidence that you presented.  The fact that the last image in your post seems to show the item in a dark colored mesh netting doesn't help, I'm afraid.

However, on today's eBay it is possible that you can simply request a return using the doesn't match description reason and get your money back and the seller having to pay the return shipping.  Of course, as a seller yourself I assume that you are already aware of that.
