I am very frustrated!!! I bought "fine jewelry" from a seller that ended up being fake. The appraisal certificate they provided was also fraudulent. This was a crystal clear case of a seller scamming buyers.
This seller had a 100% feedback rating (which is why I TRUSTED them to make a purchase in the first place)! After the return, I left negative feedback (and so did someone else, claiming they were SCAMMED. I felt much better KNOWING that other people will be warned in the future.
I literally wake up the next morning and both negative reviews are GONE. 100% rating again for the SCAMMER (so they can go on scamming). Why would ebay allow this???

What did you say in the feedback?

98.2 % feedback rating of a seller you made a purchase from in the past....someone you got positive feedback from I am seeing.
I don't know if this was the seller...but not a seller I would take a chance on buying "fine jewelry" or any jewelry.
Buyers can leave negative feedbacks...but certain words and wordage will be deleted by eBay or the seller can ask for it to be deleted. Words like "lier...fake...mafia...thief"...as examples and how they are placed in a sentence.
Have to try to leave negative feedback in a businesslike way...I know that sounds silly...but something picks up certain words in a feedback real quick.

Where was the seller located? China? They are notorious for selling 925 sterling silver that is anything but...I was also lied to in the past. I Don't buy from them anymore.

I said, "This seller is using false appraisal certificates. Beware!"

Did the seller offer free returns?
If they did, that's one of the perks for offering free returns.
I think it's a crock, but I don't make the rules.

Yes, it was free returns

Was it at a lower price than anywhere else?
(That should always make one suspect when dealing in precious metals.)

I'm curious, in your OP you said "after the return I left negative feedback." -But was it after the refund?

Yes, it was after the return. I guess I was worried they might challenge the return if I left negative feedback before. After all, the seller clearly scammed me (so I was worried they might lie about the condition of the peice or something else crazy)...

Yes, way too cheap. But, it was a used item, so I hoped it was just a very motivated seller (and items usually devalue "used"). There was a legit looking appraisal certificate (and I thought I checked out the appraisal company)... turns out when I googled "IGL", I was seeing that "International Gemological Laboratories" was reputable, but later realized the certificate was "INDEPENDENT Gemological Laboratories". I learned a valuable lesson: If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!!!

I know you said after the return -I acknowledged that in my reply. I asked if you left the feedback after the REFUND. Like not just after you sent the item back, but after you got your MONEY back.

Yes, after the refund.

At this point, had I been refunded... I'd certainly not sweat a feedback removal. You've been made whole, and that's good.

Hi @nicgl-2753
Could you please explain how you were able to distinguish a scam from a mistake? [That might have something to do with the feedback removal.]
I’m thinking the seller’s account may have been hacked … which could also explain the removal.
