Item 'Accepted' by USPS in Richardson TX, has not moved for a month; Did seller really send it?

I bought a 3" diameter steel pulley (an uncommon one with a metric center hole) and the listing said it was located in Richardson TX. I selected that vendor because the only other one said it shipped from China. The next day there was a USPS tracking number created, and the item was 'Received - Pending Acceptance' at the Richardson TX USPS facility. The tracking has remained the same for one month. I have attempted to request a missing mail investigation at USPS.com for the past week (multiple times) and after I fill in all the forms, it always says 'There was a problem submitting your Service Request. Please try again later.'  I reported to USPS.com that their website doesn't work correctly and have received no response. In desperation, I have called the Richardson post office but they do not answer their phone. I am at my wit's end trying to get this item.

Is this seller ACTUALLY in Texas or is this some kind of deal where they really did ship it in a container from China and it just looks like it's coming from TX and that's why the long delay? I asked them point blank and they did not answer the question.

When was the estimated delivery date?

You have 30 days from the last EDD to open an item not received case through Ebay.

If it's been longer then that, contact your payment source.

Have a great day.

Bottom line it really doesn't matter what the tracking says. You have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date (you can find that in your confirmation email or your purchase history) to open an item not received case. It sounds like you're nearing that deadline, if you haven't already passed it.

If you haven't passed it, go to the item in your purchase history and click 'I didn't receive it' under More actions to open a case.

And I just filed an Item Not Received today.

Really just trying to figure out why the item did not move. Is it USPS or is there something hinky with the seller? I know you can generate a shipment and a tracking number before the item is handed to the shipper, but I'm not sure about 'received-pending acceptance' by USPS.

It's hard to say why it hasn't moved.

I've heard some sorting centers still have packages from before Christmas that are just setting.

Have a great day.

I wonder if the "problem submitting" was because you weren't the sender. I'd welcome correction (@anyone), if that's bogus.

Were I you, I'd open the INR. Hopefully, the seller can retrieve the package and resell it to you if it's returned. Good luck.

You might want to try submitting your missing mail claim using a different browser.

Chrome seems to work for me.
