Is this a scam I bought into?

I bought this car stereo (honestly the price is REALLY REALLY GOOD). There are many other sellers who have it at that price. He made 37 other sales too.

It is less than $10 and if it don't come I'm sure I will get credited..but still.

Yesterday the seller had 400 other items. Now he has nothing for sale, and the listing I purchased is removed.

There are other China sellers who are selling this at this pricepoint. But also, I've seen MANY sell it for $80-$100. It is afterall an Android Car stereo. I have a similar one on another car but this one is low profile to fit my Older Grand Marquis.

I didn't get any tracking info yet but maybe I should give it a few days. Just seems strange the more I think into it.

@lenny0303,

"I bought this car stereo (honestly the price is REALLY REALLY GOOD). There are many other sellers who have it at that price. He made 37 other sales too.

Unfortunately there are many sellers who make great claims for items, but are selling absolute junk at cheap prices.  Most are located in Asia. Do you really expect a working or quality item for that price? The seller's 97% rating should have been a warning. That is an abysmal percentage for a medium volume ebay seller.

If you know a quality item costs between $80 & $100 didn't the low price concern you?  Haven't you ever been told, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is?  I would not have bought from a seller with that low of a percentage, and a listing as confusing as that one was.

"Yesterday the seller had 400 other items. Now he has nothing for sale, and the listing I purchased is removed".

The listing you bought from has ended because the seller claims to be out of stock. eBay may have pulled the rest or the seller ended them.

Well you did make the purchase on a weekend, and the listing says  "This item has an extended handling time and a delivery estimate greater than 18 business days".

and there is an outside estimated delivery date of 27 business days.

If the item doesn't arrive by its last estimated delivery date you can file an Item Not Received (INR) dispute through ebay, and get a refund, and chances are that is exactly what will happen.  However, you should have thought more about making the purchase in the first place.

I agree, but sometimes there is overstock and closeouts.  Maybe a warehouse got auctioned off and they just want to liquidate it fast.

I got items for really cheap this way.

I can show 10 other sellers selling at this pricepoint right now. One guy sold 200 of them, prob a scam too.

I am willing to wait for it for that price, it isn't an emergency to get this thing, a big luxury.

Ebay listed him as a "Top Seller".

I know I'm not losing anything with ebay,pp and Amex, but still...

Remember that the eBay and PayPal guarantees are only that you will receive the item AS DESCRIBED or get your money back.  They do not cover things such as that it is of good quality (even if that phrase is in the description it is too subjective) or that it won't break within x days after you get it.  If it says that it is "Sony XYX"  and it is not an XYY instead or is not manufactured by or under contract or license from Sony, that is covered.  If Sony made or authorized a piece of junk to be branded "Sony XYX" that is not covered.

That makes sense. If I open the box and get bracelet instead of the stereo, that would be a true NAD.

Amex would also step in as well. If that radio breaks in a day, it is my problem.

I'm not worried about the $9 honestly but the fact that 10 other sellers had it at the price made be believe it was some closeout or something. If it was more than $10 I probably would have passed.

Ok, the plot thickens.

Got a valid SpeedPAK tracking number, to my zip, but the last activity on it is:

"order cancelled"

 This is fun!
