Is there any legal options I can take here?

First of all yes, I am upset but it's not over money it's over the seller/business I bought from.

It's not something I want ebay to deal with I just want to know if it's something I can take legal action over.

I bought an item from a seller and they gave me a tracking number that never worked (literally said error). I wait like 20 days then ask if they shipped it. Seller tells me yes, but was very rude for no reason and said shipping has been taking a while but they sent it.

5 days later I get notified that I've been refunded my money. I check and see seller has reposted the item for double what I paid. Did not contact me or anything.

I get mad and message seller and he told me sellers legally can refund if they never shipped it for errors or other reasons. I said well thats funny because you literally told me you shipped it and even says so in our dms.

Long story short I paid for an item, he lies saying he shipped it when he never did, put a fake tracking number, and then relisted it and I cant even give bad feedback. Is this something I can bring higher legally I have evidence of him lieing so much more than this too.

I dont care if I lose money just they are a medium sized business and I would like to see them penalized.

Is there any legal options I can take here?

He told me he called USPS and had them return it to him because it was taking too long to arrive. Then he told me a few messages later "I never shipped it"

Funny how the listed price is now magically twice as much as original weird how something you shipped allegedly you are able to relist so fast

It's interesting that you designated your own message as the solution to your problem.

Yes, a seller can do that, but he probably received a defect.

You state that you have been refunded.

What do you mean "bring higher legally"? Like sue him in court?

What is your idea of the proper penalty in this case?

Interesting to look at this and at OP's other thread:

eBay is not for everyone.
