Hi,
I won an auction, and it listed my EXACT BID PRICE as the winning bid, and what I paid. I am not complaining, or going after the seller, etc. I paid a fair price. But HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? I bid a price that I purposely designed to be fairly random, say $132. The way ebay is supposed to work, it will only bid "a little bit more" than the other bids until they bid more than me. There should be NO WAY for anyone to guess my bid, unless they bid more than me. In that case, they would have won.
Has ebay changed the rules?
Thanks.

You will win for your max bid if the underbidder bids anywhere between one bid increment below and your exact bid. It's not unreasonable for someone to bid around the same. Were there retractions? Did the underbidder bid multiple times? If so, how close to the end of the auction?
Click on the bid count and then on the user id of the underbidder. What is the percentage of bids with this seller? How many sellers and items have they bid on in the last 30 days?
Never bid round dollars. Always add a few cents.

Entirely possible someone bid very close to what you bid. You just came very close to losing. Be thankful you won.

The bidder under you could've bid $130.
If you bid $132 as a proxy first, then that underbidder bid $130, you max proxy would be the winning bid. While it's not a bid increment above, it would take your max bid at that point.
If the underbidder had bid $130 but only $100 was showing, then your $132 would bump his up to $130 and yours to $132.
I the underbidder had bid $132.32, he likely would've won depending on when he placed his bid. He couldn't place it while you were showing $132, but he could've if your bid was sitting at $129.00
