How to turn off Outbid Pop-Up Notfications? There’s NO way to! Ebay, please fix!

The “outbid alert’ option does NOTHING. It does NOT stop these annoying notifications. There are NO settings within ebay currently that will let me turn off these annoying “outbid” popups that appear on the right of EVERY. #**@. PAGE.

I waste SO MUCH time clicking the X on those ridiculous outbid notifications, no matter what settings I have set in ebay.

The pop-ups CANNOT be stopped. I’ve tried ALL the current ebay settings. NO FIX.

AdBlock Plus will NOT stop them. I’ve tried.

I’ve tried EVERY setting within ebay. NOTHING will turn them off. NOTHING.

They pop-up repeatedly, no matter how many times I’ve seen them, no matter what page on ebay that I’m on, and no matter if I was outbid many bids ago. Still pop-up.

Seriously thinking about stopping my use of ebay completely. They’re SO annoying. It’s absurd.

@orangeceo2020,

Since you,ve been a member a little over a year, I'm guessing you use the app, mostly.  If you do try logging in the classic way with your username and password. Then go to My ebay, click > on Account, then > comminication preferences, select Buyer/ Buying Activity > show > Out Bid (drop down) select None.  and that should do it as far as emails are concerned.

Doing that from the app may not work.

It sounds like you've tried all the easy stuff.

If the settings checkbox is not helping, it might be a case of a corrupted cookie. You might try deleting eBay-related cookies and then trying those settings again. Usually that, or some combination of setting it on, signing out, signing back in, unchecking it can clear things up.

If you've tried that and had no success, Adblock can help.

You mentioned you've tried Adblock Plus, but plain old Adblock is different, and you can use both at the same time. Adblock has an element hiding feature that is quite powerful. I used it to get rid of those annoying "Not finding what you're looking for?" nags that appear if your search returns less than 25 results.

Install Adblock on your browser, and when you see a popup, select "Block an ad on this page" and then highlight as much of the popup as possible. Adblock will create a rule that can block the popup, and there is an adjustment slider to change how the rule applies -- try moving it see how it affects the page. If you run into problems you can always disable Adblock, or tell it not to run on a particular page, or even remove the rules you've created for a particular page and start again.

Good luck.
