Does anyone know if it's better to buy bulk items and resell them or dropship the items? I am new to eBay and wanted to get connected with people to see if eBay can be a full time job thank you everyone for your help and support.

Aside from breaking eBay rules (if you plan to take orders and then purchase an item for your buyer), I would never sell anything I did not have on hand, in stock, and listed with my own photos. Drop-shippers are one reason many people no longer buy new, consumer items here any more. Why pay a middleman when you can buy direct from the source?

There are already too many people drop shipping products they know nothing about on ebay. If you can buy in bulk, then try out the items you list and have them in your possession, I say go for it.

"... to see if eBay can be a full time job..."
That all depends on how large you want to live. Good luck on your journey...

As a rule, dropshipping is not a good idea. You have no control on what, when or if the items are shipped. They do run out of stock now and then. That is when the drop part kicks in, you seller rating drops.
True wholesale requires you to purchase 5000-10,000 dollars worth of a single item. You might never sell it all and have the problem of where to keep it and ship it from.
Writing listings, packing , shipping and customer support take time. I suggest you ease into this be starting small and then work your way up. You also need to build a feedback record as you will have limits on how much you can list at first.

Dropshipping is not the way to go.
Dropshipping suppliers are supplying the same items to all your on-line competitors and, usually, to brick-and-mortar retail outlets as well. So there are many hundreds of you all chasing the same dollar and the only one making a real profit is the outfit supplying you.
When you dropship, you have no control over authenticity, quality, accuracy of photos or descriptions, availability, packing, or shipping. But YOU are rresponsible to the buyer, legally and morally and financially, if there is a problem with any of those things.
Most of the stuff supplied to dropshippers is Chinese rubbish, and I imagine that a lot of eBay buyers are getting sick of seeing it all.
