Every time I look for a new item, the search filters revert, I have to reset them again.

Saving a default set of search parameters has been requested a number of times.  They have refused to consider it.

@Anonymous,

ebay has invested too much into their chinese sellers to give many buyers the chance to block their items from being seen.  One way to avoid many of the not so good sellers is not to use Best Match or Price: lowest first.  Time: ending soonest, gives the better low volume sellers a chance to be found on the first couple of pages, since that is when they get equal search visibility, with the high volume sellers.

Do a search, set your filters, and save it as a bookmark on your browser bookmarks toolbar.

All (at least the ones I've played with - which is most) of the filter settings are saved in parameters in the saved URL, so that when you click on that bookmark, the search should reopen as before. Then just change the search terms and good to go.

Thanks for explaining that regarding Chinese Sellers and Ebay's relationship. I've always wondered why do I constantly have to sift through all these Chinese sellers on the USA ebay site - don't they have their own Ebay site? It makes so much sense now, Ebay is catering to the Chinese and not us on our own country's site.  What a disappointment on Ebay's part and so unfair, that all other sites have to constantly be bombarded with Chinese listings everywhere.  I never buy from Chinese Sellers because the majority of the time their items take forever to arrive, if they arrive at all (and there's never a tracking #);  Chinese clothing is a completely differently sized then the USA sizes and you can never return items back to them or get your money back for items that either don't fit or are broken or poorly made items; in addition to a lot of scamming on authentic products.  China also has a very bad reputation of using harmful chemicals in their products.  I've been buying less and less on ebay, just because it's so time consuming going through all the listings (worse with all the additional listings from China) now it will be even less that I buy on Ebay seeing that Ebay is catering to the Chinese and not treating all countries individual sites fairly and accordingly. If Ebay is going to add China to our US site then Ebay should just do a Global site and it should be inclusive of all countries on one site, or each country has their own.

You can sort to closes to you. It will then show products closer to where you live.

The real reason eBay won't let you is to keep your searching on there site as long as possible because of the advertising revenue from all those annoying ads you do not want to see
