How do I get a response?

I placed and paid for a purchase on the 14th. According to the listing, the seller would ship the package within 24 hours and with 4 day shipping from Colorado. On May 18 when there had been no action I contacted the seller to ask if the item was available and when it would be shipped. I also asked for the tracking number. I never received a reply. On May 20 I received a package from Amazon with a similar item. It contained a package of 5 brushes and the item I purchased from eBay was 4 brushes. I decided to research the Amazon listing and found that the seller had listed the 5 brushes at less than half the cost of what I had paid for the set of 4. The Amazon profile also showed that the seller was from New York, and had only taken 1 day to ship to me. I sent a message to eBay to ask if this practice was ethical and if it violated any policies. I received an automated response back stating I would not receive any further replies. Since I do not trust this seller, how do I contact eBay to enlist their help with receiving a refund and returning the wrong item that I received?

How do I get a response?

ALL eBay buyers (as well as sellers) really should read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers, preferably before beginning a buying or selling career on eBay.

You received an item that's not as described.  You have 30 days after the receipt of the NAD item to open an item not as described case with eBay.

Also, please take the time to read the MBG which offers very good protection when used correctly and within the appropriate time frame.

You don't have to contact the seller or eBay. Find the item in your Purchase History and push the big, blue 'Return this item' button, then follow the bouncing ball.

I also suggest that you read through the Money Back Guarantee, too. >> eBay Money Back Guarantee policy

To address the issue of the package coming from Amazon, it sounds like the seller is using the Fulfilled by Amazon program, where sellers warehouse their items with Amazon and sell both places. Doing that is legal on eBay. But it has absolutely no effect on your ability to open a not as described case here.

How do I get a response?

thank you for your reply. I can see how that could be true however the point I’m making is that I received a different quantity of items than what was advertised and what I paid for. And because it was shipped through a different company under a different seller name I wasn’t certain it was actually what I had purchased. It could’ve been a coincidence, I have assumed it was not, but I had to check the Amazon seller information to find that out. There was no communication whatsoever and I did not receive that item I paid for. Those are my ultimate points that I need to address with eBay.

And, as several of us have pointed out, if what you received is not what you ordered, you have 30 days to open an item not as described case with eBay.

So is this more about not shopping around before you bought and finding a lower price later? If so, that would be on you not eBay or the seller. Not real clear if the 4 brushes you bought were the same as the ones that came in the 5 pack. If they were entirely different bushes, then do as has been suggested, open a not as described return.

@leaping-0

So you are complaining that you got an extra brush?

So long as that parcel was not shipped as a "gift" using Amazon Prime, your seller has done nothing wrong. Using Amazon FBA is not against policy on eBay.

If you are complaining about the difference in price, that is on YOU.  Comparison shopping BEFORE you buy is your responsibility, not that of eBay or your seller.

Thank you for posting.
