I am but a simple buyer. I would love if the feed/saved (https://www.ebay.com/feed) page had bid/buy next to all of the item prices, much like the emails that get sent for the saved searches.

Yes, that would be nice. In the meantime, you will still have to add items you're interested in into your watch list. Once there, the options to bid become available.
