GIA & eBay authentication Program is a Complete Failure and a sad joke!

Hello everyone .. eBay GIA authentication is a Joke! Carried out by Student in the GIA Campus! We just sold Men’s Diamond band and we were informed “it did not pass Authentication because the diamond grade we stated is “SI2” and GIA (eBay authentication partner) disagreed .. so we got the band back and the sale was cancelled. Here is why we find this whole scheme of authentication as a complete failure:

1- Diamond Grade is an opinion of a Gemologist (Having been in this business for over 40 years and studied Diamonds in more than one institute including GIA itself .. We know that GIA can give different grading for the same Diamond if you submit that same Diamond for a 2nd evaluation )

2- Looking at some of the Diamond graded with GIA certificate as “SI2” (photos attached) is a clear proof that the GIA grading is WRONG and is Not written in stones! They make mistakes all the time! Look at the photos below .. They should have an “I2” grading .. but GIA put the grading as an “SI2” .. 2 grades higher!!!
3- The fact that you cannot appeal or disagree with the decisions made by the GIA or eBay, is a complete Farce! They don’t even give you the chance to ask for a 2nd opinion or a 2nd chance to re-examine their initial grading!
4- Buyers and Sellers are Not served by this “Joke Authentication Scheme” because it is done without taking in consideration that Diamond grading for Color & Clarity is “Not written in Stone”!  Two different Gemologists can give 2 different grading to the same Diamond (We had this experience with GIA , IGI, IGL or EGL) .. it is just an opinion .. but they make it like that their decision is God’s written!
5- Now look at these photos and tell me How on earth GIA is grading these Diamonds as “SI2”? Is it incompetence? Corruption? Or what?

The Authentication Scheme is Flawed! We just bought a Chanel purse for $5,000 (eBay chose Not to “Authenticate the purse” while they insist on “Authenticating $750 ring” that comes with a Certificate! Is this a Joke or what?

Finally .. I would be very careful accepting this “Farce Authentication” at “Face Value” because it is definitely done by incompetent Students and Not by reputable Gemologist!

just look at these photos .. How can a these diamond graded by the GIA as “SI2”?

A complete joke and waste of time and money!

One umpires strike  call can be  called  a ball by another.   The grading for sport shoes has not gone any better.
