Hello,
Thank you for any help you can provide.
I bought a new and unused expensive item from overseas. The seller posted multiple different tracking numbers, which are all different statuses, none show as received.
However, I received a cheap old style iphone usb charging cable in a small padded envelope rather than the item in a box.
How to get help from Ebay with this? It appears there is no way to actually contact anyone, and if I try to report it through the website Ebay will not let me due to Ebay thinking the item has not been delivered. I am thinking this was done intentionally by the scammer so that the buyer cannot get their money back or return it.
I tried to call Ebay fraud number at 899-961-9253, but it is just an automated system that eventually asked for my zip code, that is all and just kept telling me to go to the website.
Otherwise, the only option I can find from Ebay is to start a return. Which makes no sense to have to send back a tiny usb cable to the other side of the world, when the seller will just reject the return saying it is not the expensive item.
Thank you for any advice you can give me.

If this is about the Lens you bought from the (0) feedback seller based in Singapore. You are probably having issues because the seller is new and has a 21 day hold placed on the payments they have received for the 4 they have sold so far, by ebay, and they do not know how to deal with it.
"The seller posted multiple different tracking numbers, which are all different statuses, none show as received".
Received by the shipping agency? They may be printing labels that are only good for X number of days, hoping the Pending status of your payment will change. You bought the lens on a Saturday. Late in January. The estimated delivery date for that item is 10-33 business days with a possible delay in international shipping. Sat. & Sun. are not considered business days.
Seller's can only upload one tracking number per transaction. If they were sending you new tracking numbers via eBay messages. eBay will not accept those if one shows a delivered scan.

FYI, buying brand named products from online sellers means there will be no Mfr. Warranty, unless the seller is an authorized dealer.

@steve117jm
Did this parcel use one of those "tracking numbers" posted by the seller?
If you look in your purchase history, is there a tracking number associated with the original order posted there or are the tracking number simply supplied to you by the seller? Your purchase history should show the last estimated delivery date as well. Has that date passed?
Was this order for an IPhone?

@steve117jm You have purchased an item on a platform that offers a money back guarantee, so you have nothing to worry about. Just follow the procedures for a return. You do not need to be concerned about what you received, just follow the process.
Go to your purchase history and select the item. Mark it as item not as described, which is the option you need to select, and it's a different item so it's correct. You only get one chance at opening a return case so take your time and choose this option. Seller will have to send you a return label and then all you have to do is print the return label and ship it back before the time period ends. Very simple and you will receive a full refund.
This platform doesn't get involved in he said/she said disputes. You need to keep to your story that the item you received wasn't as described and nothing more. Most likely the seller will simply refund you, but if they send you a label then ship back what you received. The tracking will show that you returned the item, and you will win. Do not contact the seller and do not focus on the tracking numbers. Follow the procedures for a return and get your money back. Best of luck to you....

If you want a refund, you'll have to open an item not as described case, and, if the seller requires it, you'll have to return what you received. The seller can't say it's not the expensive item. Why would you think that?
The MBG is set up so that you do not have to contact CS.
Did you maybe open a case already, but the wrong kind of case?

Open Item not as Described and as the seller lives in a different country than the seller is not able to provide a shipping label. The seller is supposed to send you the money [usually Paypal] for postage so you can return it.
If the seller doesn't provide either a prepaid shipping label OR request your PP details for the postage money then you need to go back to the return request after 4-5 days and 'ask eBay to step in and help'. eBay handles the return from that point forward.
