Fake Pokemon Card

I recently bought a Pokemon card & I have just received it. And… pretty much everything seems off & it looks like it’s a fake card. The color is a lot duller than the real one, everything looks like it has a blur to it. The texture feels off as well. I took the card to my local card store and they believe the card is fake as well. Is there anyway to send this card through eBay to get it authenticated after the sale so there is no discretion on the authentication? I can send it somewhere myself but I worry about about the lead times and falling outside of the eBay’s guarantee.

Just file an item not as described claim against the seller.

The ebay money back guarantee works well. The seller will be required to pay for return shipping and refund you in full. Just make sure you follow the process.

Lift your left leg at midnight to start off on the right foot. Happy new Year!

You will need to file an Item Not Described claim within 3 days of delivery for most TCG cards. If you're still in that time do it immediately.

Can you post the item number here? I can check it out for you.

Fake Pokemon Card

Thanks for the link, i have been to that page before & i have filed with the seller. He will not be accepting any returns...shocker. My question now is do i have to wait for the 3 days before contacting Ebay since the seller won't accept returns?

To add about authentication, the buyer can not choose to have cards authenticated. If the card sells for $250 or more eBay includes the authentication automatically. If you ever see an ungraded card of this value that does NOT have an authenticity guarantee badge, it is likely fake and the seller miss-categorized it to avoid authentication.

Unfortunately Pokemon is really popular for counterfeiting. But, outside of tcgplayer, eBay is probably the safest of the marketplaces.

You have/had three days from receiving the card to open an item not as described case with eBay. That's why it's unwise to waste time communicating with the seller. If it's been less than three days you should immediately open a case with eBay. If it's been more than three days you have no recourse through eBay and should open a dispute with your payment source.

Fake Pokemon Card

it should be noted that ebay's authentication service has a well-founded spotty reputation though
