Ebay sellers drop shipping from amazon

I purchased an item on ebay and was provided an amazon tracking number. The seller is drop shipping from amazon. They are telling me they used a partner warehouse because they ran out of the product. They are being dishonest and deceitful. It s not possible to over sell a product listing as an available quantity must be entered during listing creation.

Sellers should not be permitted to drop ship from amazon. I go out of my way to avoid amazon and they are not welcome on my property. I have tried reporting several sellers over the past couple of years for drop shipping from amazon but I can't seem to reach anyone at ebay directly.

You can contact ebay via their callback service or try live chat. There is no longer a number that we are allowed to call, because money talks. We are all users here and you have to go out of your way to report things to ebay.

Hi Safan,

                  At the bottom of the ebay website I click on "help & contact" from there I click "contact us" under the "need more help" section. I've honestly clicked just about everywhere in the help and contact area, but have never found an option for callback or live chat. Where would I find these?

If the seller is actually dropshipping from Amazon that's against eBay policy and you can report the seller here. But many sellers use the Fulfilled by Amazon program, where they house their own products in Amazon warehouses and Amazon fulfills their orders. That is perfectly eBay-legal. To tell the difference just look for a gift receipt in the package. If there's not one the seller is using FBA and there's nothing to report.

I know this is an old message but I wanted to reply in case other people find it. Amazon has a program that allows sellers to store their inventory in their warehouses and Amazon handles the shipping. It's called Multichannel Fulfillment, and they even use Amazon delivery services where available. So, just because you received an Amazon tracking number does NOT mean the seller is drop shipping from Amazon.

Let me further qualify the drop ship prohibition on Amazon.

Sellers who use FBA have an option to do Multi-Channel Fulfillment to service Ebay and other site orders.

MCF ships products in plain packaging not Amazon packaging and it is not obvious to a buyer that this has shipped from Amazon.

MCF has a different fee schedule than other Amazon FBA orders.

The slime which ship product which arrives in Amazon packaging are drop shippers.

The Ebay buyers who receive these Amazon packages are fools who do not know what they are buying should cost, they are almost always paying more than they would if they placed an Amazon order. The availability of these drop shipped orders makes Ebay look like an overpriced marketplace, and it drives buyers away.

It also contributes to the problems with manufacturer's warranties on Ebay purchases, since although Amazon pre-qualifies their sellers as authorized for many brands, the manufacturers may and often do refuse their warrantee on Ebay purchases.

There is absolutely nothing dishonest or deceitful about what the seller did. It was drop shipped from Amazon but if you didn't receive it or it was damaged the eBay seller would still be responsible.

It is against ebay policy if the seller does not own the inventory on Amazon.
