E-Book delivery problem

Ordered a book without the description saying it was an E-Book in the description. I assumed it was hardcover. This is what I want. Free delivery, new never been used as described. Later I see its an E-book from seller because I asked about it. Now it says it won't be delivered until June 28th. That is 1 month since my purchase. Firstof all I don't want an ebook, seller being an ass about it. So what is the time length to deliver an E-Book to buyer? Also, how in the heck do I read it and where?

thank you

File an item not recieved case. You can do it the day after the last estimated date of delivery.

Dont wait any longer than that. If its already past that date file now.

Do you know what an E book is?

I would suggest doing buyer's due diligence before buying; with all due respect, ask questions before you buy, not after.  That way you can avoid situations like this.  This is in your best interests.

e-book
ˈēbo͝ok/
noun
noun: ebook
  1. an electronic version of a printed book that can be read on a computer or handheld device designed specifically for this purpose.
    • a dedicated device for reading electronic versions of printed books.

Your right in what you said. I do know what an E-book is never seen them though on E-bay. I was most definitely looking to purchase a real hardcover book. I did not see anywhere that it was not that

It sounds like the seller violated the Digital Delivery rules and did not post the listing according to Ebay policy.

Sorry this happened to you.  Check at the top of the ended listing.  If you have doubt, many times looking at the category the item is listed in will make it clear to you what the item actually is.

Where was the book listed?  Under books?  If so and it isnt under an EBOOK section you have a case.  If it is under an Ebook section you might be out of luck.  Well, you are never out of luck, you can return it, unless you used it.  It appears as if they are listed under other books.

I didn't think there was an eBook section in the book category.  The problem with selling eBooks is that unless the seller is the copyright owner or his agent, the copying in digital form or burning the book to disc would be an infringement if permission wasn't first obtained from the copyright owner or his agent.

E-Book delivery problem

I just opened books typed in name of book and read the description price shipping and purchased.  I didn’t even know eBay had ebooks. I didn’t know about it until I started asking where’s my book. Told it’s an ebook and didn’t you scroll all the way down? This is your fault you didn’t read below, etc

I wasn't aware that eBay permitted the sale of digitally delivered items through the regular site.  Of course, what I stated regarding copyright issues would still apply regardless of eBay's permitting the sale of eBooks.  The seller would still have to have permission of the copyright owner.

With the sale of a printed copy of the book, the seller has the right to resell that physical item, but not copies of it.

That is why I am thinking that the Seller may not have used a code if there is one.  Or they might own the copyright on that particular book.  That is the problem with just typing and buying.  People need to read descriptions.  As long as you havent take delivery of the book you should be ok.

They don't. If an ebook was listed on the regular site instead of Classifieds, that's a listing violation.

Of course, if the seller is the actual copyright owner there could be no infringement.  However, that doesn't alter the fact that eBay, unless they've changed policy, only permits the sale of digitally delivered items through classified listings.  I don't think eBooks are permitted in the book category unless they are on tangible media.
