bought their V10 cordless vacuum on eBay. Reviews are great but now realizing that eBay only lets you provide feedback on the purchase process, not the product itself.
The vacuum always worked subpar but we dealt with it as it still worked. As the performance got worse we finally went through the warranty process. They had us mail in for repairs. Came back worked great for 2 weeks and then broke worse than ever
Warranty team said there was water damage and they wouldn’t cover it. This vacuum was very lightly used to clean up one rug in our toddlers play area. No water damage happened under our care. Suspect it’s why the item was refurbished in the first place.
Contacted seller and they said that this was probably due to the filter being washed and not drying prior to being installed. That was not the case for us since the light use rarely required filter cleaning and when it did we were careful to let it dry completely for 24-48 hours
Bottom line is that this seems to be a round business that benefits this dyson outlet of broken products and eBay. They sell products with seemingly glowing reviews that actually reflect eBay’s purchase and search process.
Vague warranty language that gives you the security of a 2 year warranty and little to no recourse when you inevitably encounter issues. This is the only place where I could express my feedback but still do so in the hope someone else does more thorough research than I did prior to rolling the dice with these products.

That seller has many negatives saying doesn't work or broken complaints so you must have said something that was not allowed.
The seller's feedback is horrible, BTW.
A big seller with less than a 98.6% rating is a seller you shouldn't by from. Their rating of 95% would have caused me to pass on that seller. 47 negatives in one month is atrocious.
¹My daughter had two Dyson vacuums but I remember one went in the shop. I wasn't impressed with either one but then I was comparing them to a Kirby and an Electrolux I had, and an old upright Hoover where I worked. (After 50 years the Hoover was still working)
I don't think they make anything like they used to!

Ebay gives buyers 30 days to file an item not as described claim. You should have opened a claim then and not been okay with a subpar product.
You really can't hold ebay liable because you choose not to return it under ebay policy.

Not sure why any buyer would be willing to put up with something that's functionality was subpar.
You had 30 days from receipt to open an item not as described case per eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

You are 100% right. I shouldn’t have been so complacent. Just thought “oh it works well enough for the limited use it gets and don’t feel like going through hassle of going through a claim process for something that still pretty much works.”Very bad reasoning on my part and now I spent what I did for less than a years worth of limited use. That’s on me.
My purpose for sharing my perspective wasn’t to hold eBay liable but to hopefully provide insight to someone else so that they could potentially avoid making the same mistake as me or at least know the risks of buying these types of items.
i think it’s a timing thing but eBay doesn’t let me submit feedback. Hence my comment that eBay seems to only be interested in giving buyers context around the buying process as opposed to the quality of the products being purchased.
