Do codes work if they are valid when I apply them, but expire before the seller accepts my offer?

So, I'm considering sending an offer for a jewelry item. Currently there is a 10% code offered by ebay that expires tomorrow. What happens if the code that I apply to the item expires before the seller decides to accept it? Will it still apply, because the code was valid when I sent the offer, or do I lose the discount?

The 10% code that is offered by eBay is applied at checkout. 
The seller doesn’t even see the code it is an incentive to buy offered by eBay. 
If you were making the seller an offer, the seller can accept or decline those.

Coupons cannot be used with Auctions, Seller generated special offers/discounts or Best Offer.  They cannot be used at all in some categories such as Motors vehicle listings, or Coins and Currency...
