Okay so I ordered a phone from this seller... I had to do an invoice for some reason in order to get the phone... he shipped it out supposedly and I have yet to receive it. I spent over $400 on the phone and now the seller is ignoring me and everyday. I can't ask eBay for help because I can't track the package or nothing

Hi, @saraparke_76.
If the last estimated delivery date found in your Purchase History (http://www.ebay.com/myb/PurchaseHistory) passes, and there is still no item, you can open an "item not received" case through the Resolution Center.

What do you mean by "I had to do an invoice"?
If you paid from a PAYPAL invoice, you have NO buyer protection through ebay and you cannot file an item not received case in ebay's resolution center. You took the purchase OFF ebay which is actually a major no-no! You will have to file a case in Paypal's resolution center.

When one wins an auction, one receives an email message with subject line "Your invoice for eBay purchases" followed by the item information and item number. This may be to what the OP is referring.

I agree with hafoster.
I also think missjen is well aware of how things work on eBay.
Unless the OP returns & provides some details we will not know what happened.

@saraparke_76 you did an off ebay sale. ebay will not help you.
However, if your invoice came from paypal, then you are covered through paypal for 180 days. you will have to open a case through paypal. i recommend you call paypal
for future refence, never do an off site sale again. if you hadnt done this, then this would be a much quicker resolution for you

When one wins an auction, one receives an email message with the subject line "YOU WON:" in all caps and the title of the listing.
Occasionally, a seller will also send an invoice immediately as the auction ends, so you'll get an additional email. And too, if you request an invoice.
But what's with all your misinformation?

Here is some EVIDENCE for you -- screen capture of the TWO emails (ipad mail inbox) that I received upon winning an auction. The first is the regular email stating that I won the auction and the second is the invoice email. So, NO misinformation, only FACTS. There ARE sellers who send invoices: I save my email, and I have other you-won and your-invoice pairs of emails for auctions that I won.

With all due respect, the keyword is OCCASIONALLY in Tarpedge's post. Not that Tarpedge is unable to explain, but here are my observations. It sounds to me like this is an off ebay transaction. Perhaps OP can come back and explain.
I buy a lot and rarely get invoices. The last time I got an invoice was because it was two items from one seller with combined shipping. Otherwise, it is a rare thing. Smabrouk, you presented this as if one ALWAYS gets invoices, and that is not the case. Tarpedge was not disputing that invoices may be sent, just that they are not usually. Most sellers don't bother to send invoices, because there is a pay now button immediately on the listing at its' end that buyers can use right away to pay. No waiting for an invoice as it is generally not needed. There are some reasons to send an invoice, such as combined shipping or perhaps for a newbie who may not know how to pay as an aid for that. Or the seller may just simply be taking no chances; up to the individual seller.
You are not being attacked now or when you advised to open an incorrect case. It is not a subversion of the truth, rather a confirmation of it. Had the buyer followed your instructions, they would have lost the case immediately and their money.
Hope this helps; best to all.

Can you explain, you had to do an invoice? Did you buy this phone on ebay or was it off ebay? You have protections on ebay as a buyer if you bought it on ebay. If not, first of all, you are not supposed to go off ebay because you lose ebay buyer protections. But as others have posted, you could then file with Paypal.
More specific info can be given to you if the posters here know exactly what happened.
So sorry this happened to you!

Is this item listed in your Purchase History on ebay?

OP posted screenshots, is nobody seeing them? This is NOT an off ebay transaction. Sounds like OP is inexperienced and doesn't realize that its customary to receive an INVOICE for an ebay purchase.

Thanks for the wild-goose chase, San Jose. Everyone needs the exercise, once in awhile.

No, I'm not seeing them. Maybe others aren't either.
