Is there a process for dealing with items found to be counterfeit, but outside of the returns period?

If it's been less the 180 days from the time of purchase and you paid with Pay Pal, you can file a claim with them.

Hey

Yeah I just emailed American Express and they have accepted the dispute. Very impressed with the service. 

It was for a baby-carrier, so havent looked at it until now, due date next week or so.

It's usually better to start with Paypal because if PP decides against you, you can then "appeal" to your card company.

But if you start with the card, neither PP nor eBay will allow another dispute.

In the future, inspect any ebay items within 30 days of receipt.
