Case closed as seller ignored, cant leave any feedback

Hi guys,
Not sure if correct place. Been an eBay user for many years but first time I've struggled with this. Basically bought item, got shipping number, item didn't turn up. Shipping confirms this. Left it longer than normal to allow for Covid. Tried comms with seller a few times but no response so started a case with eBay.
2 weeks after case was raised, seller still hadn't responded so I added some more info but again seller didnt respond. I then got an email from eBay saying case would be closed as there was no activity. But there's nothing I can do. the seller just ignores and there's no other options.
Today case got closed to to no activity. And to add to that I cannot leave any feedback for the seller.
I eels to me this is a loophole sellers can get round?
I got money back from paypal so I'm not fussed about that, but something doesn't seem right

You received a refund so not much else you can do but move on and don't deal with this seller again

Things happen to people: this may be one of those cases. Glad you got your refund.
After you were refunded no transaction took place so no feedback.

I was a little surprised, at the end. I assumed you hadn't gotten the refund. Since you got it, I'm not sure what the problem is.

The seller doesn't have to respond to the case at all in order for you to get a refund. There should have been an option to escalate the case to eBay.

After you opened the item not received case in the Resolution Center (presumably), you needed to return to the case after 96 hours and ask eBay to step in. If you did not do that, eBay assumed the problem had been solved and closed the case.
And, BTW, you could have opened that INR case any time after 48 hours had passed since the end of the auction/listing.

I'm assuming the problem is the buyer couldn't leave feedback. I'd leave feedback if the seller was unresponsive and I never got my item.

I had a similar situation recently. Ebay resolution did not provide any 96 hour window, it kept telling me I had two wait two weeks. It was almost 3 weeks before I got my money back. Seller never responded, never shipped, never provided tracking, nothing. I was able to leave feedback.

@wesleyad Sellers are people too. Perhaps this seller became ill and that's why they couldn't reply to you. Frankly you didn't need to contact seller in the first place, just open an item not received case. As you said, you got your money back so you aren't out anything.
I don't understand where you are seeing a loophole. The seller is out the money of the sale as you were refunded. The seller is out what they paid for shipping. The seller is out the associated fees for this transaction. The seller is out for the lost item so cannot resell to recoup anything. The seller received a demerit on their selling account for not responding to the open case. You still want more? Best of luck to you....

The buyer likely wasn't able to leave feedback because they essentially lost the case when it closed in the sellers favor because it wasn't escalated.
